 A permanent Business Support Assistant – based in Portishead, North Somerset.  Full time 30 to 37.5 hours/week.

Your new role

The Business Support Assistant will report to the Business Support Manager & Executive Assistant and will be an active member of the Group Services team.

In this role, you will provide wide-ranging administerial support across the group.  This will involve performing a broad range of tasks to assist the Business Support Manager in supporting all areas of the business.

The Business Support Assistant is accountable for:

  • Diary management, including making appointments, ensuring that all relevant information and organising has been captured for meetings, including room bookings/venues, catering, location maps, site information, visitor registration, etc.
  • Assist with organising travel and accommodation for internal/external hospitality and events.
  • Maintaining stationery cupboards and stock levels.
  • Ensuring meeting rooms are clean and tidy and conferencing/VC equipment working.
  • Support with HR tasks as required - onboarding/offboarding and success management.
  • Support with IT tasks as required - communicating with external support provider, onboarding/ offboarding, ordering new IT and telecoms equipment.
  • Document production/management/filing.
  • Support with maintenance and upkeep of internal company intranet.
  • CRM admin - updating and maintaining valid information.
    

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum 2 years’ experience in administration/business support
  • 5 GCSE’s or equivalent at Grades A to C, including English and Maths
  • Working knowledge of best practice planning, organisation and coordinating administration tasks
  • Computer literate and competent in MS Office Suite applications, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to become proficient in company-specific programmes and software
  • High level of accuracy – eye for detail
  • Ability to effectively plan and prioritise a varied workload
  • Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  •  Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to produce quality documents to a high standard
  • Ability to present, understand and interpret data
  • Proactive nature
  • Flexible approach to working activities
  • Ability to build effective working relationships and collaborate across all levels of the business
  • High degree of tact, diplomacy, confidentiality and discretion
