Goals and Objectives:
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in developing relationships and revenue with new and existing manufacturing customers and will focus on Household Industrial and Institutional product marketplaces. Achieving all sales targets whilst ensuring strong partnering relationships and excellent customer feedback. Working as a cohesive team with colleagues across the business i.e. Sales, Marketing, Production, Technical, Customer Service and Finance to achieve both Carvansons’ and its customers’ goals. Demonstrating enthusiasm to meet the challenges of a fast moving, high growth environment, to have the ability to problem solve, with energy and drive whilst undertaking new business development and existing customer account management to develop the Carvansons business.
Responsibilities:
- Generate new business growth by targeting relevant decision makers within brands and manufacturers and building long term relationships.
- Proactively manage and develop multi-level relationships within allocated existing key accounts to ensure we retain and grow them and maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Develop account profiles and plans for each key account customer and prospect, to ensure a structured focus to maximise the potential whilst ensuring customer needs are continuously met.
- Take ownership of the customer in all aspects relating to the sales and service delivery working with Carvansons colleagues from different teams to ensure our customers are satisfied.
- Manage personal activity to ensure targets are met and produce accurate sales forecast and reporting on business activity.
- Work alongside the Marketing department to create awareness of the Carvansons brand, our products and services. Working closely with the Creations Team and UK Accounts Team, taking the customer through the initial product lifecycle journey from concept to launch and ensure that projects are delivered on time.
- Build relationships and sales in a customer facing, business winning capacity with particular focus on our UK top 10 accounts within this sector and the development of other large key customers.
- Identify market opportunities and associated activities to ensure maximum exploitation of our products.
- Develop strong personal links with key current and new target customers to win new business and retain existing customers.
- Maintain accurate systems including effective updating of the CRM.
- Regularly review territory market trends, competitor and customer dynamics to adapt the sales plan if required.
- Ensure adherence to all Company Policies and Procedures, updating and replacing as required. Be fully conversant and compliant with all Environment Health & Safety Procedures.
Qualifications/ Experience/Knowledge:
Ideally degree educated with a minimum of 3 years B2B sales experience in fragrance, chemical or allied industries; knowledge of Beauty, Cosmetics & Personal Care or Household, Industrial & Institutional marketplaces would be beneficial.
A proven track record of hitting and exceeding sales targets.
A technical understanding of the chemical compound process is highly desirable.
Knowledge and experience of manufacturing with the ability to confidently present our technical offering to key stakeholders.
Excellent IT skills including PowerPoint, Excel, ERP, CRM etc
Valid UK Driving Licence
