To be responsible for the management of a portfolio of clients together with all aspects of service delivery in consultation with the Audit Director and senior management of Audit and Assurance.
Core responsibilities
People management
- To be responsible for managing a team of Senior Auditors and communicating with the Directors of Audit and Assurance.
- To coach and develop all staff members working with the team, including contributing to the performance reviews and appraisals.
- To communicate effectively at all levels for the benefit of the clients and the Company as a whole.
- To provide technical support to the whole audit team and to ensure and enforce excellent technical standards in all work.
- To look after staff social events, training and welfare and promote staff involvement in various Company initiatives.
- To be responsible for staff resourcing including candidate interviews, feedback on hiring and/or termination of staff, and staff planning on engagements.
Operational excellence
- To fulfil a technical expert role within the Audit Department with regard to software issues, specific accounting issues or audit issues. This includes managing the team’s software use including technical problems, licensing and efficiency of use.
- To be responsible in creation and maintenance of the template library to ensure consistency of approach across engagements.
- To manage all aspects of the client portfolio (service delivery, WIP, billing and debtors) including monitoring key performance indicators and reporting on departures.
- To ensure and enforce excellent technical standards in all work.
- To undertake occasional ‘ad hoc’ assignments for clients of the Firm and for the Audit Partner.
Commercial growth
To assist in the preparation of the annual fee income budget for the portfolio.
To attend monthly meetings of Moore Stephens Audit and Assurance (Jersey) Limited and be prepared to contribute to the successful operation of the company as a whole and to the audit department specifically.
To assist in client proposals and presentation, when required.
To develop new business (in conjunction with the Director) or on your own initiative.
Technical / Professional / Qualifications Preference
- Qualified Accountant (by qualification through the Professional body); or
- Qualification relevant to function; and
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development; and
- Management Training undertaken
- People Management skills and experience.
