Assistant Finance Manager
£28-35k (dependent on experience) plus annual performance-related bonus
Full-time hours (5 days a week)
Location: Based in either Canary Wharf or Letchworth, with the requirement to travel to the respective site 2 to 3 days per week.

About the role
This is a new opportunity within our company. The ideal candidate will support the Head of Finance and be responsible for all aspects of financial management and reporting, including assisting in the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP, analysing financial data to provide insights to support strategic decision-making, and assist in monitoring and managing cash flow and preparing VAT returns and other statutory filings. The postholder will also play a key role in the annual budgeting process, analysing budget variances, and assist in financial forecasting regarding the company’s performance. Payroll processing and other hands-on financial tasks will also form part of the responsibilities of the role. This is an incredibly varied role and an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to come in and make a real difference to our business operations. We’re looking for a part-qualified accountant, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a finance role, preferably in a start-up or fast-paced environment. We’re looking for candidates with strong interpersonal and communication skills, and looking to progress to a management position in time. We value individuals who can demonstrate a willingness to get ‘stuck in’ and make a difference to all areas of the business, and remain calm under pressure. The successful candidate will be proficient in financial management software, particularly Xero.
