Global Health Partnerships (GHP) requires a consultant who is an expert in coordination of All-Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs) to coordinate the APPG on Global Health & Security, for which GHP provides the secretariat. 
 
The APPG on Global Health & Security unites APPGs focused on various aspects of global health to share learnings, undertake research and to make recommendations that safeguard investment in health as a cornerstone of global security and development. 
 
We are seeking a short-term part-time consultant which a passion for global health and a background in running APPGs and/or public affairs. This role will be situated within the External Engagement Team, which spans internal and external communications, events, advocacy, and our Experts In Our Midst programme. The role will be working closely with the GHP Deputy CEO and CEO, plus Officers and Members of the APPG, to update and deliver a workplan for the APPG. 
 
Description of responsibilities: 
 
Administration and compliance:  
  • Maintaining compliance with the APPG rules and coordinating the AGM of the group, following its reporting year end in May. 
  • Completing all required registration forms and registering the result of the AGM with the registrar following the AGM. 
  • Financial management including publishing income/expenditure reports as required. 

Events and meetings:  
  • Managing all APPG activities and producing an updated workplan for the group, in consultation with APPG members and external stakeholders. 
  • Close liaison with the APPG Chair’s office on the organisation of the APPG meetings, including diarising, arranging room bookings in the House of Commons, and agreeing topics.  
  • Organising meetings of the APPG on various topics, and in consultation / collaboration with external stakeholders and other APPGs. 

Policy and research:  
  • Conducting and/or supporting research projects arising from APPG meetings. 
  • Providing briefings to members of the APPG and guest speakers in advance of meetings. 
  • Circulating reports to APPG members and external stakeholders following APPG meetings and publishing on the APPG website where appropriate.  

Communications and networking:  
  • Acting as the main point of contact for all stakeholders, including parliamentarians. 
  • Managing external stakeholder relationships and engaging a wide range of stakeholders in the work of the APPG. 
  • Updating APPG social media channels and website. 

Requirements and offer: 
 
This short-term consultancy will be executed over an average of 1 day per week until the end of July 2026. Please provide a budget proposal with daily rate and total cost estimate with your application. 
 
Where reasonable, GHP will meet work-related travel expenses incurred. Consultants will be reimbursed following submission of timely and accurate receipts. The consultant must be based in the United Kingdom, and there may be a requirement for limited travel to London for meetings during the contract. If travel to London is required, this will be agreed in advance with the Deputy CEO. 
 
Start date will be as soon as possible.  
 
Candidates should submit: 
 
  • An up-to-date CV and the names of two referees. 
  • A short technical proposal of no more than two pages outlining understanding of GHP’s work and the assignment, and why the candidate is a good fit for the role. 
  • A budget proposal with daily rate and total cost estimate.
