About First Bridge School
First Bridge School is a DfE-registered specialist SEND school for pupils aged 2 to 11 with autism and complex developmental needs, located in Chelsea, London.

Our families, staff, and visiting professionals rely on a reception function that is calm, capable, and genuinely supportive. The administrator at FBS is not just an administrative role. You are often the first person a family speaks to and the person who sets the tone for their experience of our school.

The Role
We are looking for an experienced, organised, and personable school administrator to manage the front-of-house operation and provide administrative support to the school's leadership and staff teams.

You will be the central point of contact for parents, visitors, professionals, and staff, ensuring every interaction reflects the professional, welcoming, and child-centred ethos of First Bridge School.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all incoming calls, emails, and visitor enquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Greet and sign in visitors in line with safeguarding and school security procedures
  • Maintain accurate pupil attendance records and follow up on unexplained absences
  •  Support school leadership with administrative tasks, including correspondence, data entry, and scheduling
  • Manage and maintain pupil and staff records on the school's management information system
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing post, deliveries, and courier arrangements
  • Support the management of school supplies, equipment, and facilities administration
  • Assist with communications to parents and carers, including letters, newsletters, and appointment reminders
  • Maintain confidentiality of pupil, family, and staff information at all times
  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures in all aspects of the role

Requirements

Essential
  • Proven experience in a administrator, front-of-house, or administrative role
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Confident and professional telephone manner
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
  • A calm, positive, and approachable manner in a busy environment
  • Commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children

Desirable
  • Previous experience working in a school or educational setting
  • Familiarity with school management information systems. 
  • Understanding of the needs of SEND pupils and their families
  • Experience in a setting serving children with additional needs or complex requirements
