Wythall Animal Sanctuary is entering an exciting period of growth and development. We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Centre Manager to lead our multi-species rescue sanctuary and boarding operations, ensuring exceptional animal welfare, operational excellence and a positive experience for staff, volunteers and visitors.

The Role

You will oversee the day-to-day running of a busy rescue sanctuary caring for cats, dogs, rabbits and ponies, alongside boarding facilities. This role combines operational leadership, people management, administration, and hands-on animal care delivery.

Key Responsibilities

·        Oversee animal welfare, veterinary care and rehoming activities
·        Lead, coach and develop staff and volunteers
·        Manage rotas, performance, training and wellbeing
·        Manage boarding operations and customer service standards
·        Ensure compliance with animal welfare, health and safety and licensing requirements
·        Oversee site maintenance, contractors, vehicles and equipment
·        Monitor operational performance and contribute to income generation
·        Support strategic projects and organisational growth

About You

·        Proven experience managing teams in a hands-on operational environment
·        Experience in animal welfare, animal care, boarding or a similar setting
·        Strong leadership and decision-making skills
·        Excellent communication and organisational abilities
·        Working knowledge of health and safety and regulatory compliance
·        Passionate about delivering outstanding animal welfare outcomes

Desirable Experience

·        Animal welfare, management or leadership qualifications
·        Charity or not-for-profit sector experience
·        Experience in licensed boarding kennels or similar regulated environments
·        Health & Safety or First Aid qualifications

Additional Information

The role includes regular weekend working, routine evening welfare checks, outdoor working in all weather conditions and occasional out-of-hours emergency response responsibilities.
