Are you passionate about supporting families and building stronger communities? Do you thrive in a role where every day is different, and where your work has a direct impact on the lives of children and their families?

Family Help Leads play a vital role in delivering targeted family support to families with children aged 0–11. Working across Gloucester and the Forest of Dean, you’ll hold a caseload, assess need using My Plan Plus and outcome stars, and act as Lead Professional for families – planning, delivering and evaluating the interventions that help them move forward. You’ll also deliver targeted group work and parenting programmes, and be part of a dynamic team that works collaboratively with families, professionals, and community partners to create inclusive, resilient and connected neighbourhoods.

You’ll be led by a Family Support Team Manager and work closely with colleagues across the Family Hub. Your work will include home visits, parenting support, safeguarding, representing GGT at Core Group meetings, TAF/TAC and case conferences, and leading multi-agency plans that improve outcomes for children.

This is an exciting and varied opportunity to work alongside families at the point where support makes the biggest difference, using a strengths-based approach and The Liberated Method to build on what families and their communities already have. It is your chance to make a difference as part of a strong supportive team.

Key skills:

• At least two years’ experience of working with children and families, including one-to-one work.
• NVQ Level 4 or above in childcare, education, health or social care – or Level 3 and a commitment to progress.
• Experience of multi-agency working, and of assessing children’s needs including use of My Plan Plus.
• Knowledge of parenting support interventions, child development, domestic abuse, substance misuse and mental health.
• Confident using IT systems including Microsoft Office and case management tools.

This is a face-to-face role that involves travel across the localities, so a full driving licence, access to transport and business insurance are essential. An enhanced DBS check will be required.

Applications must be made using the Gloucestershire Gateway Trust application form as CVs will not be accepted. We welcome a conversation with you if you have any questions about Gloucestershire Gateway Trust, the Children and Family Centre contract, or the role.
