Reporting To | Commercial Product Manager
About the Role
As an Operations Administrator, you’ll support the day-to-day management of our savings and lending products across our direct and partner channels. Reporting to the Commercial Product Manager, you’ll help make sure products, payments, data and customer communications are processed accurately and on time.
This is a great opportunity for someone at the start of their career to get hands-on experience within a Bank and learn how our products and processes work from the inside. You’ll be a critical part of the team, supporting activity across Commercial, Operations and our external partners while building valuable experience across savings and lending.
This is a six-month fixed-term role with plenty of variety and an opportunity to develop your knowledge of banking, product management and financial services operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be responsible for:
- Setting up new savings and lending products within Mambu and Halo, making sure product information and parameters are accurate.
- Supporting changes to existing products, including rates, terms and other agreed product updates.
- Supporting the daily tracking and maintenance of market information within the Bank’s data warehouse.
- Downloading and processing partner payment requests through internal and external systems.
- Accurately allocating and recording payments within Mambu, our core banking system.
- Completing checks to make sure product setups, payments and changes have been processed correctly.
- Supporting product lifecycle activity, including the launch, amendment and withdrawal of products.
- Issuing product-related communications, including email notifications to Best Buy vendors.
- Supporting the production and issue of loan statements.
- Supporting end-of-fixed-rate activity and associated customer and operational processes.
- Maintaining accurate product information, records and supporting documentation.
- Supporting partner administration and coordinating activity across our external distribution channels.
- Responding to internal product and processing queries and helping colleagues access the information they need.
- Identifying and escalating processing errors, data issues or operational risks.
- Supporting the processing of incoming and outgoing post and other office-based administration.
- Providing wider administrative and clerical support to the Commercial team as required.
What You’ll Bring
Essential
You don’t need years of banking experience to be successful in this role. We’re looking for someone who:
- Has strong attention to detail and takes pride in getting things right.
- Is confident working with numbers, data and administrative processes.
- Is comfortable learning and using different systems.
- Can follow processes accurately while knowing when to ask questions or escalate an issue.
- Has good written and verbal communication skills.
- Is organised and can manage several tasks and deadlines.
- Is comfortable working independently and as part of a wider team.
- Is curious and keen to learn how banking products and processes work.
- Can work from our office at least one day each week, as some activities, including post processing, need to be completed on site.
Desirable
It would be helpful, but isn't essential, if you have:
- Previous administration, payment processing or customer servicing experience.
- Experience within banking, financial services or another regulated environment.
- Experience working with payments or financial transactions.
- Experience using banking, finance or customer management systems.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
What will make you successful?
You’ll be successful in this role if you:
- Have a keen eye for detail and spot when something doesn’t look right.
- Take ownership of your work and see tasks through to completion.
- Enjoy learning new systems, processes and ways of working.
- Understand that accurate processing matters to both our customers and the Bank.
- Are comfortable working with routine tasks while adapting when priorities change.
- Build positive working relationships with colleagues and external partners.
- Ask questions, stay curious and look for opportunities to develop your knowledge.
- Bring a positive, professional and dependable approach to your work.
