Job Purpose 

The role of the Autism / ADHD Sheffield Hub Team Leader will be to work as part of a team which specialises in delivering one-to-one and group support to adults and young people (16+) living with Autism and / or ADHD, playing a fundamental role in the day-to-day delivery of the service.  

The post-holder will work closely with the Service Manager, helping support the team. 

Hub sessions are in-person and virtual (inc. evenings and Saturday). 

The role will also include offering support and advice to VCSE organisations.

The successful applicant will also receive ongoing support and regular supervision from ADHD/Autism Sheffield Hub Team Manager, together with day-to-day support provided by senior management and Sheffield Mind colleagues. 
 
The ADHD & Autism Hub Team Leader will link with a variety of key stakeholders including:

Main Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate referrals and timely access, inc. inputting referral information onto the database and processing documentation. 
  • With other staff, act as the initial point of contact at the Hub, which includes: 
Ensure individuals who arrive at the Hub are registered, settled in and understand the Hub’s remit. 

Provide service users with high quality and accessible information, advice and support that is appropriate to their needs and maximises their involvement in decision making. 

  • Support the delivery of the Autism & ADHD Hub, which includes: 
One-to-one keywork including the development of exit plans. 

Use evidence-based practice. 

Plan and facilitate service user activities, courses and workshops. 

Facilitate coproduction groups and support attendees to report back to commissioners / others.  

Input and navigate the Lamplight CRM system to record, collect and report service statistics. 

  • Work closely with Service Manager to review data and service performance to ensure the team is aligned with Hub goals, objectives and service standards. 
  • Provide Sheffield VCSE organisations with advice and information on Autism / ADHD, either by email, phone, in-person or via group sessions.  
  • Encourage experts by Experience (EbE) Participation – lead on quarterly advisory groups, codesign, and consultation (with support from Peer Support Worker) 
  • Promote the service and ensure it is accessible to people living in the Sheffield. 
  • Carry out evaluation exercises with clients and professional colleagues. 
  • Work on case studies and share innovation, in response to requests for feedback. 
  • Participate in promotional events e.g. information days, community events, family sessions, drop ins, workshops representing the project and the wider Sheffield Mind organisation.  
 

Other Tasks 
 
  • Liaise on behalf of and represent Sheffield Mind as appropriate. 
  • Actively participate in supervision with your Line Manager. 
  • Support and contribute to the charitable and fundraising work of Sheffield Mind as appropriate. 
  • Any other tasks that can be reasonably expected that are within the scope and spirit of the job. 
 
PERSON SPECIFICATION 

 Experience     
1  | Managing a caseload, including complex cases and crises.   
2  | Working with autistic individuals and people with ADHD (young people and adults) and their families / professionals.   
3  | Working within a multi-agency environment (e.g. social services, education, VCSE sector).   
4  | Group work   
 Skills    
5  | GCSE A*-C / 9-4 or equivalent in English and Mathematics along with good keyboard skills and the ability to use Microsoft Office applications, i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook and the confidence to use Sheffield Mind’s CRM system.   
6  | Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing demands, including the requirement to work with clients towards discharge.   
7  | Ability to plan, grasp complex information, interpret key issues, analyse information and produce professional reports.   
8  | Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate empathetically under pressure.   
 Knowledge  
9  | Understanding of Autism and ADHD and willingness to continue learning.  
10  | Understanding of mental health issues.  
11  | Understanding of equality diversity, inclusion and equity issues

Salary: £ 27,201 per annum, pro rata

Time Scale: end of contract 30th May 2029  

Hours: 29.6 per week
