ABOUT THE ROLE: 

This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by growing and strengthening our volunteer community.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and strategic Volunteering Development Manager to lead and grow our volunteering offer across the organisation.

This is a pivotal role where you will develop and implement a framework for volunteer role creation, recruitment and support. Working collaboratively with teams across the organisation, you will enable the successful delivery of a wide range of projects, programmes and activities that support our ambitious strategic plan.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and lead the organisation’s volunteering strategy in line with wider goals
  • Identify, design and promote exciting and meaningful volunteer opportunities
  • Manage all aspects of the volunteering programme, including budget oversight
  • Lead volunteer recruitment, induction, training and ongoing development
  • Lead on specific projects and initiatives to increase volunteer involvement and engagement
  • Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external volunteer networks
  • Act as the first point of contact for volunteering processes, policies and best practice
  • Use data and insight to improve and grow volunteering opportunities and outcomes

ABOUT YOU:

  • Confident to build strong relationships and engage stakeholders in a friendly, open and inclusive way
  • Able to use data and insights to make evidence-based decisions and identify opportunities
  • solution-focused, proactive and innovative in developing new ideas and services
  • have an understanding of the wider strategic landscape and adapt accordingly

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience leading a volunteer programme or managing volunteers
  • Experience developing and delivering a volunteer strategy
  • Demonstrable success in recruiting and retaining volunteers
  • Experience in managing diverse groups of people with a collaborative approach
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, risk management and delivery against objectives
  • Experience working within a community-focused organisation
