As the bar venues assistant you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the Students’ Union bar and wider venue operations.

Working closely with the Venues Team, you will provide day-to-day operational support to help ensure the bar is delivered to a high standard, enhance the student experience, drive engagement, and contribute to venue sales and commercial success.

You will collaborate with colleagues across the Students’ Union to support the delivery of a welcoming and inclusive bar environment, while helping to identify opportunities to improve service, increase sales, and meet the needs of a broad student community. Using your knowledge of student interests and customer expectations, you will contribute ideas to help make the venue appealing and engaging for students.

The role also involves supporting, guiding, and supervising student staff during shifts, ensuring excellent customer service standards are maintained and that the bar operates safely, efficiently, and smoothly.

You will provide feedback on service, operations, and customer experience to identify opportunities for improvement and help shape the ongoing development and success of the venue.
