RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service
- Provide excellent customer service to a wide variety of customers both external and internal (staff, artists etc.).
- Resolve all customer complaints in a calm professional manner. Record complaints and refunds to discuss with the Café Manager.
Food & Drink
- Preparing the daily food offer including sandwiches, hot food and salad where required.
- Ensure that Café displays are attractive, well stocked and daily menus are produced in the morning.
- Ensuring that all alcohol is sold according to the Licensing Act 2003
- Ability to work weekend & evenings
- Hospitality and bar support during events.
- Assist Duty Manager with set up of events as required e.g. Previews, VIP Dinners.
- Be aware of visitors with access and disability issues and how to help them.
Health & Safety & Daily Operations
- Carrying out daily opening and closing checks, ensuring Safer Food Better Business Diary is completed daily.
- Overseeing and carrying out cleaning.
- Ensuring high levels of hygiene are maintained in the kitchen and café areas according to procedures set out in the Safer Food Better Business Manual.
- Ensuring that all health and safety requirements are met in the kitchen and café area.
- Assisting in the cleaning and maintenance of all Café Bar equipment and reporting any problems.
Plus any other duties as required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Skills & Experience
- Customer service skills
- Excellent team player, self-motivated and confident in working alone.
- Enthusiastic about good food and drink.
- Well organised, with a high attention to detail.
- Must be 18+ (to supervise selling of alcohol).
- Experience of working in a bar setting and serving drinks
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience of working in a busy café, catering environment
- Barista experience, making a range of coffees and hot drinks.
- Knowledge of Food Hygiene regulations.
- Experience of cash handling and using a till.
