JOB PURPOSE:
The project worker will support young people in our “Leading Change” programme. The project worker will provide complimentary support to young people availing of our advocacy or mentoring support. They will also assist the programme team to co facilitate the youth leadership programme and peer support groups.
MAIN DUTIES:
- To effectively engage and communicate with care experienced young people and care leavers
- To support the programme team in the delivery of our youth leadership training programme and co-facilitate group activities.
- When appropriate provide mentoring support to young people that are preparing to or have left care.
- To maintain high quality and recordings of work undertaken. This includes recording and collating emerging themes from our work.
- To support young people to design training materials/publications/promotional materials.
- To support young people in delivering presentations and workshops that raise awareness of the experiences and issues facing care experienced young people.
- To assist in the monitoring and evaluation of the “Leading Change” programme .
- To participate in regular support and supervision.
- To work evenings and weekends as necessary.
