Main Purpose | To provide high quality administrative support to enable efficient & effective running of the Compassion Centre in line with the vision, values & culture of the church.
Reports to | Compassion Centre Pastor
Pay | To be agreed
Hours of work | 14 hours per week, worked over 2-3 days including a Tuesday morning
Areas of Responsibility
- To provide high quality support and administration to the Compassion centre, ensuring that all systems work well and are fit for purpose
- To assist in providing oversight and coordination of our CAP Lifeskills project.
Main Duties- Compassion Centre Administrator
- To maintain the client & team database - communication with clients, managing rotas & communicating with teams
- To manage referrals, liaising with referrers as needed eg signposting clients to other activities or agencies, tracking their “progress” using an appropriate system, utilising ChurchSuite “Flows” etc
- To oversee administration for the Compassion Centre Lead and team as required eg Administer new volunteer forms & ensure training is complete
- To assist with the development and implementation of new systems and projects eg for the foodbank, social supermarket and other projects
- To provide oversight and coordination for the CAP projects at Riverside, working closely with the teams involved and the CAP area manager.
- To establish and manage client well-being assessment surveys, recording the data and ensuring confidentiality, and helping to analyse the responses
- To provide administrative support for seasonal activities and events, such as harvest collections, Christmas events etc.
NOTE: The Compassion Centre at Riverside Vineyard Church comprises a range of projects that primarily serve the “basic needs” of individuals (see Maslow’s hierarchy of needs). Currently these projects include provision of food, children’s clothing, baby equipment, Drop-In cafe, and English language classes. We also have a team supporting those experiencing debt as well as a Job Club for those seeking work.
Other requirements
- Carry the church’s culture of Christian values & practices into all aspects of the role including interactions with external parties, compassion centre clients, church members and staff team
- Play a full role in the Christian practices of the team, e.g. prayer & worship times, demonstrating a clear, personal commitment to the Christian faith
Comply with our operating policies/procedures, including Health & Safety and safeguarding policies
- Contribute positively to the effective running and development of the church
- Undertake any training or personal development as required
- Any other duties reasonably requested by your Line Manager
