Job Description: Senior Capacity Planning Manager
Location: Head Office, Units 1-6, Old Station, Higham, Bury St Edmunds
Reporting to: Senior Supply Chain Manager
Direct Reports: Resource and Planning Manger
Responsible for: Capacity planning and workforce forecasting across field delivery and subcontract supply chain

Job Role
The Senior Capacity Planning Manager is responsible for ensuring the company has the operational capacity required to deliver current and future programme volumes across its operating regions.
The role will lead forward resource planning and capacity forecasting, working closely with operational leadership and supply chain teams to ensure sufficient installation capability exists across the companies delivery network.
The position will monitor workforce utilisation across both direct delivery teams and subcontract supply chains, ensuring resources are deployed effectively and efficiently.
The role will also identify skills shortages, training requirements and capability gaps, supporting the development of training programmes and workforce development initiatives to strengthen operational capacity.
Working closely with the Senior Supply Chain Manager, Head of Field Delivery, Design & Coordination teams and senior leadership, the Senior Capacity Planning Manager will ensure that Aran maintains a scalable and resilient delivery capability.
Key Requirements
Capacity Forecasting & Forward Planning
· Develop and maintain forward capacity forecasts aligned with programme delivery pipelines
· Monitor anticipated workload across operational regions and delivery streams
· Identify potential resource constraints and capacity shortfalls in advance of programme delivery
· Support operational planning for new programmes and contract mobilisation
Resource Utilisation
· Monitor utilisation levels across both direct labour teams and subcontract delivery partners
· Ensure operational resources are deployed efficiently across programmes
· Identify opportunities to improve workforce utilisation and operational productivity
Workforce Planning
· Work closely with operational leadership to forecast future workforce requirements
· Support recruitment planning where additional operational capacity is required
· Ensure workforce planning aligns with programme delivery timelines
Skills & Training Requirements
· Identify skills gaps across the delivery workforce and subcontract supply chain
· Support development of training plans and capability improvement initiatives
· Work with training and compliance teams to ensure field teams maintain required competencies
Operational Coordination
· Work closely with the Head of Field Delivery and Senior Contracts Managers to understand operational requirements
· Coordinate planning activities with the Senior Supply Chain Manager and supply chain teams
· Ensure supply chain resource planning aligns with delivery forecasts
Performance Monitoring
Monitor operational performance data relating to:
· Workforce utilisation
· Installation capacity
· Delivery volumes
· Regional capacity constraints
Provide insights and recommendations to support operational decision-making
Continuous Improvement
· Develop and refine capacity planning processes and tools
· Improve forecasting accuracy and resource planning methodologies
· Support development of systems that improve operational visibility of resource capacity
What We’re Looking For
· Experience in operational planning, workforce planning or resource management
· Experience working within construction, retrofit, utilities or field-based operational sectors
· Strong analytical and organisational skills
· Ability to interpret operational data and develop practical planning solutions
· Strong communication skills and ability to work across multiple teams
Qualifications
Essential
1. Experience in workforce planning, operational planning or supply chain resource management
2. Strong analytical and planning capability
3. Experience within retrofit, construction or utilities sectors
Desirable
· Experience using operational planning systems or data tools
· Understanding of retrofit programme delivery environments

Schedule
The Senior Capacity Planning Manager will be based at the Aran Insulation Head office Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, however on occasions it will be required to work outside these hours and away from the head office. Staff are required to attend occasional training courses, conferences and meetings that may necessitate staying away from home overnight.
