Job Role

The Field Health & Safety Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring health and safety standards are consistently implemented across Aran’s operational delivery.

The role is primarily site-based, working closely with operational teams, supervisors and subcontractors to monitor safe working practices and promote a strong safety culture across all installations.

The coordinator will conduct site inspections, safety observations and compliance checks, ensuring field teams are operating in accordance with company procedures, legal requirements and client safety expectations.

A key element of the role is engaging directly with installers and site supervisors to deliver toolbox talks, training sessions and safety briefings, helping to continuously improve health and safety awareness across the workforce.

The role works closely with the Technical Quality Manager, Contracts Managers and operational leadership to identify risks, resolve safety concerns and support continuous improvement.

Site Health & Safety Monitoring

· Conduct regular site safety inspections and monitoring visits across company projects

· Observe working practices to ensure compliance with company safety procedures and statutory requirements

· Ensure field teams are operating in line with RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements)

· Identify unsafe behaviours or conditions and ensure corrective actions are implemented

· Provide practical guidance to field teams to improve safe working practices

· Work with field teams to ensure wider monitoring and compliance.

Compliance & Documentation

Review and verify site documentation including:

· Risk Assessments

· Method Statements

· COSHH assessments

· Equipment and PPE compliance

· Ensure safety documentation is accurate, up to date and available on site

· Maintain clear records of inspections, safety observations and actions raised

Toolbox Talks & Training

Deliver regular toolbox talks and safety briefings to field teams and subcontractors
Provide practical guidance on key safety risks associated with retrofit works, including:

· Working at height

· Manual handling

· Ladder and scaffold use

· Dust and respiratory hazards

· Electrical safety

· Use of power tools and equipment

Support the development of safety training materials and improvement initiatives

Promote a positive and proactive safety culture across operational teams

Incident & Risk Management

· Assist in the investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses

· Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions

· Identify trends in incidents or safety concerns and recommend improvement measures

Continuous Improvement

· Work with operational teams to identify opportunities to improve safety processes.

· Support the development of practical safety procedures and best practice guidance

· Assist in improving safety engagement and awareness across all field teams

Collaboration with Operational Teams

· Work closely with Contracts Managers, Supervisors and operational leadership to ensure safety standards are maintained

· Support site mobilisation and ensure appropriate safety arrangements are in place

· Provide feedback to the team on operational risks and safety performance

What We’re Looking For

· Experience working in construction, retrofit or field-based operational environments

· Strong understanding of construction health and safety practices

· Ability to engage effectively with installers and site teams

· Experience conducting site inspections and safety observations

· Strong communication skills and a proactive, practical approach to safety management

· Ability to influence behaviour and promote a strong safety culture

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

1. NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent)

2. CSCS card or relevant construction safety card

3. Full UK driving licence

Desirable

1. IOSH Managing Safely or IOSH Working Safely

2. SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme)

3. Experience delivering toolbox talks or safety training

4. Knowledge of retrofit installation activities (insulation, ventilation, heating or renewable technologies)

Schedule

The Field Health & Safety Coordinator will be based at the Aran Insulation Head office but will be mainly based in the field and will work normal site hours Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm, however on occasions it will be required to work outside these hours and away from the head office. Staff are required to attend occasional training courses, conferences and meetings that may necessitate staying away from home overnight.

Salary

£35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
