Job Role
The Technical Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring the technical quality, regulatory compliance and audit performance of retrofit works delivered by the company.
This role provides leadership across PAS 2030 / PAS 2035 compliance, installation standards, quality assurance processes and accreditation management, ensuring works are delivered right-first-time and in line with industry regulations, certification body requirements and client specifications.
The role will work closely with Operations, Retrofit Coordination, Contracts Management and Supply Chain teams to ensure installation quality is maintained across all workstreams.
The Technical Quality Manager will lead technical inspections outcomes, quality audits, compliance reviews and root-cause analysis of failures, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and continuous improvement is embedded across the business.
The position plays a key role in maintaining the companies’ certifications, scheme compliance and industry accreditations.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Compliance & PAS Management
· Ensure full compliance with PAS 2030:2023, PAS 2035 and TrustMark requirements across all installation activities
· Provide technical oversight across insulation and retrofit measures including CWI, IWI, EWI, loft insulation, ventilation, heating and renewable technologies where applicable
· Interpret scheme requirements and technical standards to ensure operational teams understand compliance obligations
· Work closely with Retrofit Coordinators and technical partners to ensure design compliance and installation integrity
Quality Assurance & Audit Oversight
· Develop and manage Aran’s internal quality inspection and audit framework
· Conduct regular site inspections and technical audits of installations
· Ensure works meet required standards for PAS, TrustMark, scheme administrators and certification bodies
· Analyse audit outcomes, identifying trends and areas for improvement
· Implement corrective actions and preventative measures to reduce failure rates
· Ensure robust documentation is maintained to support compliance and audit requirements
Accreditation & Certification Management
Manage all industry accreditations and certifications, including but not limited to:
· PAS certification bodies
· TrustMark registration
· Industry scheme memberships
· Coordinate and manage external audits by certification bodies and scheme administrators
· Ensure ongoing compliance with certification requirements and audit readiness
Quality Improvement & Performance Monitoring
· Monitor installation performance metrics including technical failure rates, audit scores and remediation trends
· Lead quality improvement initiatives across operational delivery teams
· Develop technical guidance, training materials and best practice procedures
· Support operational teams in resolving technical challenges on projects
Supply Chain Technical Oversight
· Ensure subcontractors and supply chain partners meet Aran’s technical and compliance standards
· Review installer performance and provide feedback where quality issues arise
· Support supply chain onboarding to ensure technical competence and compliance capability
Client & Scheme Compliance
· Support responses to technical queries from clients, scheme administrators and compliance bodies
· Provide technical support during client audits or programme reviews
· Assist in the management of scheme compliance risks and remediation plans
Reporting & Governance
Provide regular reporting to the Managing Director Installations and Wider SLT covering.

Support senior leadership in maintaining strong governance around technical compliance and installation quality.
What We’re Looking For
· Strong experience in retrofit, insulation or construction quality management
· Deep understanding of PAS 2030 / PAS 2035 frameworks
· Experience working with TrustMark, certification bodies (IAA) and scheme compliance
· Experience managing technical inspections or quality audit processes
· Ability to interpret technical standards and implement operational procedures
· Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
· Excellent communication skills with operational teams and clients
· Experience managing quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Essential
1. Proven experience in retrofit or energy efficiency sector#
2. Detailed Construction Knowledge
3. Strong working knowledge of PAS 2030 / PAS 2035
4. Experience in quality management, technical compliance or auditing
Desirable
· Construction or building services qualification
· Health and Safety qualifications (IOSH/NEBOSH)
· Internal or external auditor qualification
Schedule
The Technical Quality Manager will be based at the Aran Insulation Head office, in Higham and will work normal office hours Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, however on occasions it will be required to work outside these hours and away from the head office. Staff are required to attend occasional training courses, conferences and meetings that may necessitate staying away from home overnight.
Salary
£45,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
