Job Title: Customer Experience Host (Fixed Term) – Devonport Creative Quarter
Location: Devonport Creative Quarter (Market Hall, Guildhall, and other local venues)
Hours: We are recruiting 4x positions;
- 24 hours (per week) worked Thursday-Sunday
- 24 hours (per week) worked Monday-Thursday
- 18 hours (per week) worked Friday-Sunday
- 18 hours (per week) worked Monday-Wednesday

Contract: Part time, fixed term from Tuesday 5 May 2026 – Wednesday 2 September 2026
Salary: £24,479 pro rata.

Job Purpose
As a Customer Experience Host (Fixed Term) you’ll play a key role in welcoming guests and supporting the delivery of a new visitor experience at Market Hall. You’ll take responsibility for setting up the immersive dome for screenings, greeting the audience, checking tickets, running the screenings, and supporting additional activities in the main hall. You’ll also provide cafe support when required, helping create an overall outstanding experience that reflects our values and mission.
Relevant dome operation training and support will be given.
Main duties and responsibilities
· Provide a warm, informed welcome to all visitors, members, and customers across our DCQ venues.
· Host events and experiences, including dome screenings, creative workshops, tours, and talks.
· Prepare and serve food and drink in our café spaces, maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation.
· Support sales of retail items and ticketed experiences, using tills and point-of-sale systems.
· Maintain a clean, organised, and safe environment across venues.
· Respond professionally to enquiries, feedback, and customer needs.
· Work with the wider team to ensure the smooth delivery of events, including set-up and pack-down.
· Assist with stock control, ordering, deliveries, and daily financial/operational procedures.
· Support the training and needs of casual staff and volunteers.

- Using electronic tills or point-of-sale systems

Knowledge - Application/ interview
- Basic knowledge of Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, and Data Protection
- Understanding of food hygiene standards and best practices in hospitality (training available)
