Role Overview

As Commercial Lead for Technical Services at Eagle Eye Innovations (EEI), you will shape and drive the commercial success of one of the company’s most dynamic and fast‑growing divisions. This is a role for someone who thrives on building relationships, crafting compelling service offerings and turning complex client needs into clear, valuable commercial outcomes.

You will lead the commercial strategy for our Technical Services portfolio, covering consultancy, regulatory support and assurance services—ensuring our propositions are competitive, well‑structured and positioned for long‑term growth.

Whilst you will work closely with technical and regulatory experts, your focus is on commercial performance, client value and strategic decision‑making rather than deep technical delivery.

What you will be doing

  • Leading the commercial development of EEI’s Technical Services offering, shaping services that meet market needs and drive sustainable growth.
  • Owning client relationships end-to-end; from first conversation through to contract award and delivery—acting as the primary commercial point of contact.
  • Developing, pricing and negotiating proposals that clearly define scope, manage risk and deliver strong margins.
  • Collaborating with technical SMEs to ensure bids and documentation are accurate, compliant and commercially robust.
  • Providing commercial leadership around regulatory frameworks (including Specific Operations Risk Assessment (SORA)), ensuring services are positioned and delivered in a controlled, value driven way.
  • Building and managing a healthy commercial pipeline, identifying new opportunities and emerging trends across the RPAS sector.
  • Assessing and managing commercial risk, escalating issues and recommending mitigation strategies where appropriate.
  • Representing EEI at client meetings, industry events, regulatory forums and exhibitions.
  • Ensuring all commercial activity aligns with EEI’s governance, Safety Management System (SMS) and compliance standards.

Essential Skills and experience

  • Proven experience in a commercial, business development or client facing role, ideally within a regulated or service‑led environment
  • Strong commercial acumen, including pricing, negotiation, margin management and commercial decision making
  • Ability to work confidently with regulatory frameworks and compliance driven delivery models
  • Comfortable engaging with technical subject matter and translating it into clear, commercially compelling propositions
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas for clients and stakeholders
  • A proactive, results driven approach with the confidence to lead commercial conversations and shape outcomes

Desirable Skills and experience

  • A track record of driving revenue growth or developing new service lines
  • Familiarity with aviation or drone regulations (e.g., CAA frameworks, SORA methodology)
  • Experience working within or alongside Safety Management Systems (SMS) or other regulated operational frameworks
  • Experience supporting or leading proposal development, bid responses or commercial documentation
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels
  • Strategic thinking capabilities, with an eye for identifying new opportunities and market trends

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent experience in business, commercial management, or a related field (beneficial but not essential)
  • Additional training or certification in commercial management, negotiation, project management or regulated industry operations is advantageous

This position offers valuable training opportunities for individuals eager to develop their leadership capabilities while contributing positively to our organisation.

Due to the nature of elements of the role, the successful applicant must be a UK National and may be required to successfully complete National Security Vetting which may require criminal record, security service and credit reference checks; qualification will also normally require a minimum UK residency of at least 5 years.
