Job title: Head of Academy Goalkeeping

Reports to: Head of Coach & Player Development

Salary: £30,000 - £32,000
Hours: 40 hours per week, including weekends 
Role summary
The Head of Academy Goalkeeping leads and manages the goalkeeping programme ensuring a clear, aligned pathway for development across all phases. The role oversees curriculum delivery; line manages the Foundation Phase Goalkeeping Coach and supports the individual progression and transition of goalkeepers.

Key job outcomes

• To oversee the development of goalkeepers from U9 – U18’s, including monitoring and providing support to the young pros
• To work closely with the First Team Goalkeeping Coach to support the transition of Youth Team goalkeepers into First Team training sessions.
• To develop the coaching curriculum and programme for goalkeepers aligned with the academy value, vision and playing philosophy 
• To line manage the part time Goalkeeper Coach in the Foundation Phase who will be responsible for the U9 – U12 age groups within the academy 
• To plan, deliver and review coaching sessions in the U13 – U18’s age groups in line with the academy coaching curriculum 
• Ensure the monitoring of goalkeeper’s performance across the academy in both training sessions and games 
• Liaise closely with the Lead Phase coaches and Academy coaches throughout the age groups regarding training, games, and progress
• Ensure all goalkeepers within the academy have an up-to-date individual development 
• To contribute towards the multidisciplinary team and work closely with other departments to ensure we have a comprehensive development programme
• Assist with administrative tasks related to the role, including general organisation, recording of sessions, player reviews, learning objectives and weekly reflections
• Actively support the coach competency framework and undertake CPD organised by the club and take responsibility for your own professional development
