ESTATES MANAGER
Location: Ambleside, Lake District
Salary: £36,500 per annum - 40 hours per week
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

We have an exciting opportunity for an Estates Manager to take responsibility for the smooth running, safety, and high standards of our estate, supporting an excellent environment and customer experience for a wide range of visitors, clients, and colleagues.
In this varied role, you’ll
- Oversee maintenance and statutory compliance across the extensive grounds and a variety of buildings, from Grade II listed to more modern constructions
- Lead a small Estates Team of 3 in proactive and reactive maintenance tasks
- Coordinate contractors, projects, and site operations to keep everything running efficiently and safely
- Work collaboratively across departments
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Essential
- Experience in estates, site, property or operational management
- Experience supervising or managing staff or contractors
- Working knowledge of statutory compliance in areas such as fire safety, asbestos, legionella or electrical safety
- Understanding of Health & Safety legislation and risk assessment processes
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to work towards IOSH within 12 months
Desirable
- Experience as a duty holder or responsible person for H&S
- Experience working in a charity, education, hospitality or visitor-facing environment
- Relevant Health and Safety qualification, IOSH or NEBOSH
- Relevant professional qualification such as from British Institute of Facilities Management (e.g. Institute of Learning and Management
