HR & Employee Engagement Manager
About the Role
We're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced HR & Engagement Manager to join our studio. This exciting role combines people operations, employee engagement, and strategic oversight of our office environment to help create an exceptional workplace for our talented team.
You'll be instrumental in fostering our studio culture and supporting our people to ensure our studio runs smoothly as we continue to grow and publish amazing games.
Key Responsibilities
People & HR
· Manage the full employee lifecycle from recruitment support through to onboarding and beyond.
· Help administer HR systems, maintain accurate employee records, and ensure GDPR compliance alongside our outsourced team.
· Coordinate recruitment processes, including job postings, screening, and interview scheduling.
· Support onboarding and induction programmes for new starters.
· Advise managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment law.
· Handle employee relations matters with sensitivity and confidentiality.
· Help manage absence, holiday tracking, and related administration.
· Coordinate performance review cycles and development planning.
· Help maintain and update the employee handbook and HR policies.
Employee Engagement & Culture
· Design and deliver engagement initiatives that strengthen our studio culture.
· Help organise team events, social activities, and celebrations.
· Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the studio.
· Gather and act on employee feedback through surveys and focus groups.
· Support internal communications to keep the team informed and connected.
· Coordinate wellbeing programmes and mental health support initiatives.
· Foster a positive, inclusive, and creative working environment.
Office Leadership & Collaboration
· Lead our wider admin and HR team, providing guidance on their daily priorities and professional development.
· Collaborate with the Office Administrator to oversee day-to-day office operations and facilities management.
· Provide senior-level support for relationships with building management, suppliers, and service providers.
· Help set the strategy for our office, from supplies through to equipment, and maintenance, delegating, where appropriate, the execution and coordination to the Office Administrator.
· Ensure health and safety compliance and oversee the completion of risk assessments.
· Oversee office budgets and approve invoices.
· Help facilitate seamless coordination of travel arrangements and accommodation when required.
· Act as an escalation point for complex office-related queries or facility issues.
Essential Requirements
· Proven experience in an HR or people operations role, with a background that includes managing or mentoring others.
· Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
· Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
· Proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced, creative environment.
· Strong administrative and IT skills, including HRIS systems and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
Desirable Requirements
· CIPD qualification (Level 3 or above) or working towards.
· Previous experience in the video games industry or creative sector.
· Experience with applicant tracking systems and HR software.
· Knowledge of visa sponsorship and right to work requirements.
· Event planning and project management experience.
· Passion for video games and understanding of game development.
Travel Requirements
This role requires you to be in our Leamington Spa studio for two days a week and may involve occasional travel to events.
