About the Role:
As a Young Carer Wellbeing Practitioner, you’ll support Young Carers who help care for a family member with a disability, long-term illness, mental health needs or addiction. You’ll build trusting relationships, offer emotional and practical support, and help Young Carers feel confident, connected and less alone in their caring role.
You will:
- Deliver 1:1 wellbeing sessions in schools, and community settings
- Create safe, nurturing spaces for Young Carers to talk and be heard
- Work collaboratively with families, schools, and professionals
- Support Young Carers to build resilience, coping strategies and positive wellbeing
- Help Young Carers access activities, groups, and wider support
- Be part of a warm, supportive and passionate team making change every day
About You:
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Qualified with a psychology degree
- Empathic, patient and an excellent listener
- Experienced in supporting children or young people
- Confident working independently and within a team
- Able to build rapport quickly with families and professionals
- Passionate about mental health, wellbeing and empowering young people
- Organised, flexible and committed to making a difference
