We aim to become the champions of mental health on the Isle of Man from low-level early intervention positive mental health support and training, through to more complex needs and longer-term conditions. 
 
We work in collaboration with the statutory services and other third sector partners to provide a unique environment on our beautiful Island where the importance of mental health is recognised and the community work together to provide timely and correct interventions at every level.
 
About You
 
We’re looking for a team player who is able to work collaboratively as part of a committed, enthusiastic and dedicated team. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate experience communicating and working with people of all ages at different levels, particularly preschool and primary aged children, and parents. Ideally the candidate should be able to demonstrate experience in delivering education and training, and in the fields of psychology and mental health.
 
The Role
 
This role will work within the Isle Listen Education Team developing and delivering engaging and age-appropriate mental health education, around a range of topics, for children, teachers, education staff and parents. Our Education Programmes are delivered in the Isle of Man’s Primary and Secondary schools, and the wider community, through a variety of mediums including assemblies, classroom sessions, workshops and group activities.
 
Working closely with the Education Team Lead, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering elements of the existing Primary Programmes, and helping to develop an Early Years Programme.
 
In addition, the candidate will take a lead on our New Parents initiative, delivering an evidence based programme that supports expectant parents with their mental health in order to help build safe and nurturing relationships between them and their baby.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To support the development and delivery of mental health and wellbeing education. Specifically:
o Working flexibly within the Education Team to support the development and delivery of our Education Programmes, primarily in primary schools and early years settings, but also in other community settings as needed.
o Ensuring all materials and resources are kept up to date and in line with the latest initiatives and developments in mental health and wellbeing.
o Researching and designing new educational content, working with the wider education, clinical and marketing teams to ensure content is engaging and relevant to audiences.
o Leading on the research and development of an Early Years Mental Health curriculum, and developing relationships with Early Years settings.
o Evaluating and reporting on the effectiveness of the Education Programme.
o Proactively assisting in the promotion of mental health and wellbeing issues throughout the Island

Delivering our new project supporting expectant parents to improve their mental health and wellbeing before the birth of their child.

To support and attend school activities and public awareness events, sometimes outside of normal working hours, to promote the work of the charity, as agreed in advance.
