We are seeking an Aqua Aerobics Instructor to lead, appropriate to the level of qualification/fitness discipline an Aqua Aerobics class.

Responsibilities:
Provide continual supervision during class times for a safe, effective and motivating environment for physical activity.  Continually assessing the participants and their ability level. 

Communicate with participants on any concern or difficulty.  Set up for any activity that is needed for assigned class.  Observe and teach good body mechanics.  Constantly work with participants to enhance their knowledge of exercise, body alignment and exercise safety.   Demonstrate an awareness of self-responsibility and accountability. 

Work co-operatively with other team members within the Club to contribute to the overall productivity of the team.   Work with the Group Exercise Co-Ordinator to build on the reputation of Bluecoats classes, competitor assessment and look for new trends and classes. 

Communicate positively any changes in class scheduling eg venue, class times and price changes for classes undertaken.  Pro-actively manage any complaints or concerns made by members of other customers regarding changes to scheduled times and venues and relay these to the Group Exercise Coordinator as appropriate.   Be aware of all emergency procedures and health and safety regulations, ensuring that any incident is communicated to the Duty Manager.  Ensure all incidents/accidents are recorded and signed off by the Duty Manager.  Ensure that late arrivals to classes are not allowed to join if they arrive more than 10 minutes after the session has started. 

Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people by ensuring that if teaching a class which is external to the Club building (eg teaching in the tennis courts, dance studio, or in the grounds) that a staff ID card is clearly visible or on their person.  Instructors will also be responsible for ensuring that class participants do not leave the area where class instruction is taking place.   

·         Observe Health and Safety and Fire regulations.
·         Comply with Company policies.
·         Attend staff meetings and training as required. 

Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people by ensuring adherence to relevant Club procedures. 

Person Specification: A good general education up to at least GCSE standard 

Essential qualifications required: Appropriate Exercise to Music (Aqua) Qualification
