Our access to capital and real estate is important but our most valuable asset is our team, and we are delighted now to be recruiting for a CSA Design Manager.
The role
· Reporting to CSA Design Director: Lead civil, structural, and architectural due diligence activities, including site assessments, design evaluations, and obtaining necessary approvals.
· Risk Assessment: Assess structural and environmental risks (e.g., flooding, seismic activity, ground stability) to inform site selection and infrastructure design.
· Design & Construction Oversight: Manage CSA design permitting processes, including reviews of structural assessments, material compliance, and architectural design approval.
· Sustainability Integration: Support the integration of sustainable design solutions into data center projects, including energy-efficient buildings, sustainable materials, and optimized space usage.
· Regulatory Compliance & Standards: Ensure CSA design adherence to local and international codes, regulations, and industry standards during all phases of design and construction.
· Construction & Design Audits: Perform compliance audits of CSA designs during the design, construction, and operational phases to ensure adherence to regulatory and internal standards.
· Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and regulatory
authorities to ensure smooth approval and project execution.
· Consultant & Contractor Coordination: Oversee and coordinate CSA responsibilities across consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure high standards in design and construction implementation.
· Design Optimization & Problem Solving: Contribute to innovative design solutions, seeking ways to reduce costs while maintaining quality and reliability of civil, structural, and architectural systems.
· Project Management: Manage multiple, fast-paced CSA design projects, ensuring timely delivery and consistent quality.
Basic Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
· 5+ years of experience in CSA design and construction, with a focus on large-scale mission-critical infrastructure projects such as data centers.
· Expertise in CSA design principles and regulations, including experience with structural assessments, architectural design, and civil works for complex buildings.
· Proven experience in creating and reviewing design documents, including technical drawings, specifications, and approvals for structural and architectural elements.
· Strong communication skills, with a proven ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders to drive projects forward.
Preferred Qualifications
· Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
· Experience with large-scale mechanical, electrical, and power systems integration.
· Project Management certification (e.g., PMP).
· Vendor and consultant management skills for overseeing external design and construction teams.
· Experience with international building codes and construction practices.
· Data center design and construction experience (preferred).
