About the Role
This role involves delivering and coordinating the day-to-day work of our Evaluation Consultancy projects, supporting the delivery of high-quality services to clients in line with requirements. The role is focused on effective project delivery, strong client engagement, and contributing to continuous improvements to meet client expectations. The Senior Consultant will ensure quality standards are maintained across evaluation consultancy work, while also helping to strengthen the overall client experience.
Roles and Responsibilities
The roles and responsibilities of a Senior Consultant include:
· Leading on consulting projects, the successful candidate will have strong client engagement skills and be able to organise and coordinate the delivery of high quality and impactful evaluation consultancy services aligned to the client brief. The role will focus primarily on delivery of higher value contracts of £20,000+.
· To deliver consulting projects efficiently, within budget and aligned to the client brief.
· To work effectively & efficiently on multiple contracts simultaneously, ensuring the delivery of high quality of project outputs
· To develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
· To support Principal Consultants, Senior Principal Consultants and/or Director in the delivery of a broad portfolio of consulting contracts
· Develop high quality and reliable data collection processes including surveys, workshop and interview questions
· To produce high quality reports, in line with company templates and brands and aligned to the client brief
· To adhere to company operating manual, policies and processes in respect of delivery, management and administration of consulting services
· To coordinate (and line manage where appropriate) Senior Project Consultants, Project Consultants and/or Support Consultants to ensure effective delivery of consulting contracts
· To work with a network of associate consultants to enhance the quality of consulting services
· To act professionally and showcase the company ethos at all times, demonstrating leadership and responsibility
· To operate at an 80% utilisation rate of billable time
· Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients, including tender submissions
· To travel and attend out of office site visits, meetings, consultations, facilitations (anything else you can think off that travelling/out of office is required across any of the roles) as and when required by a Client’ or Company
· Maintain a strong working knowledge of the sector and respective subject matter or service areas and contribute to continuous service improvement within the company.
· To work closely with the Product Teams to inform feature developments and the ImpactReady software roadmap.
· Work closely with other teams including Product, Customer Success and Operations to ensure efficient and effective delivery of both software and consultancy services.
· Act as an ambassador for the ImpactReady product both within S3 and externally
Qualifications
Essential
· BSc Hons in a relevant discipline
· Minimum 2-3 years’ experience working in a similar role including engagement with public and/or 3rd sector organisations
· Experience managing staff through consultancy projects and/or line management
Desired
· Relevant industry qualifications such as Social Return on Investment, Outcomes Based Accountability, Effective Survey Design etc
Skills and Abilities
· Strong understanding of the community & voluntary and public sectors and able to engage with stakeholders at all levels across these sectors
· Able to position consulting projects in a broader strategic, funding and policy context and provide significant added value to clients
· Able to work with specialists in a wide range of disciplines – complementing and adding value to the team with strong project management skills
· Able to use feedback to manage performance and bring about change
· Able to build strong relationships with people within the team and throughout the business
· Able to lead meetings and communicate professionally and positively with internally and with clients
· Able to build strong client relationships
