With a strong focus on relationship and account management, the Partnerships and Development Manager will be a people-oriented leader who thrives on building meaningful external relationships with clients, commissioners, and collaborators. 

They will lead on the delivery of our People First Summit, manage commercial team members, including a bank of Training Associates, our Hopetown Café, and work closely with colleagues across Communications and Fundraising to grow the impact and sustainability of our commercial and income generating activities. 

The post-holder will act as the operational lead for our commercial services and bring a fresh perspective to help us grow with our ambition.

Key Responsibilities


Relationship Building and Account Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders (corporates, commissioners, public, private, and third sector clients)
  • Act as a key point of contact for partners from initial engagement through delivery and ongoing support
  • Manage key accounts with a focus on long-term collaboration and impact
  • Oversee contract delivery for training and commercial services ensuring quality and high levels of satisfaction

Commercial Operations and Team Leadership

  • Line manage staff within the commercial arms of Change Mental Health, including Training Associates and café team members
  • Coordinate the operational delivery of the People First Summit
  • Develop and improve delivery systems, ensuring smooth day to day commercial operations
  • Monitor performance, quality assurance, and professional standards across all commercial activity

Marketing and Enterprise Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Comms and Fundraising teams to co-create marketing materials and campaigns for commercial offers (training, events, café, etc.)
  • Support messaging, branding, and communications that reflect the values and aspirations of our services
  • Input into digital, print, and social media strategies to promote offerings to key audiences

Development and Sustainability

  • Help design and grow sustainable, ethical commercial arms that generate income while aligning with our charitable aims
  • Seek opportunities for service development and innovation based on client feedback and sector needs
  • Ensure the voice of people with lived experience shapes all commercial offerings

Systems and CRM

  • Use and manage CRM systems (e.g. Monday.com) to track engagement, contracts, leads, and delivery
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of client and partner interactions, pipeline activity, and KPIs

Criteria


Essential Criteria:

  • Experience working in relationship management or stakeholder engagement roles
  • Proven ability to manage or use CRM systems (e.g. Monday.com, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Experience managing a wide range of stakeholders from CEOs to frontline staff
  • Experience leading or managing staff or associates
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines

Desirable Criteria:  

  • Experience in account management and/pr client services
  • Experience of delivering or coordinating training
  • Experience managing or coordinating events or conferences
  • Understanding of social enterprise or charity commercial operations 

General Duties 

  • Act in accordance with Data Protection legislation.  Ensure all records, personal, staff and client data are managed in line with Data Management and Information Governance policies
  • Comply with legal and regulatory requirements such as provisions set out in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
  • As with all employees, workers and volunteers; to encourage people to join Change Mental Health as a member, donor or activist
  • To act in accordance with the charity’s Health & Safety and Safeguarding policies and to notify your line manager promptly if there are any concerns
  • To participate in regular supervision and appraisal and undertake any relevant training as appropriate to the role
  • To work in accordance with the charity’s national policies and local operating procedures and those of external regulators or professional bodies
