Make is a fast-growing, independently owned digital agency based in East London. We work with ambitious brands across premium alcohol, lifestyle, logistics, hospitality, education, and retail. We’re building something bold: a next-generation social offering that combines insight, creativity, community and innovation to drive real-world value.
As our new Head of Social, you won’t just lead a discipline. You’ll shape what social means in a post-performance, post-cookie, GEO-powered world, one where creativity, content, AI and cultural connection collide. This is a leadership role for someone who thrives on setting the pace, steering commercial and creative growth, and delivering impact that moves far beyond impressions.

What You’ll Be Leading
Client Leadership & Growth
- Be the strategic partner senior clients rely on to unlock growth through social.
- Lead multi-market and cross-sector strategies that connect social to brand, business and commercial KPIs.
- Be bold in pushing what’s possible, whether through organic scale, paid-social innovation or creative breakthrough.
Social Strategy & Discipline Direction
- Define and evolve Make’s social vision, products, and strategic frameworks.
- Collaborate and lead ambition insight-led, audience-first strategies that blend brand storytelling, cultural moments, and conversion mechanics.
- Champion the link between social and GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation), helping brands navigate the future of AI-informed discovery.
Innovation & Platform Intelligence
- Stay ahead of the curve - from AI-generated content and social commerce to new engagement formats and automation opportunities.
- Lead Make’s relationships with key platforms (Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, LinkedIn, Twitch) and surface new opportunities for innovation.
- Set POVs on platform change, content futures, and the intersection of social and web 3.0.
Team Leadership & Culture
- Build and lead a multidisciplinary social team: strategy, content, community, creative and innovation.
- Foster a high-performance, creatively ambitious culture that’s collaborative, curious and values-led.
- Shape how the social team integrates with design, paid media, SEO, content and production.
Operational & Commercial Ownership
- Own Client relationships, delivery excellence, and performance against scope.
- Drive account growth, retention, and pitch conversion, with a direct line of sight to revenue impact.
- Help shape the future of Make’s social product and IP, from tools to templates to thought leadership.
Who You Are
- Progressive and strategic: 7+ years in senior social roles, ideally in an agency or integrated team.
- Commercially sharp: You’ve driven revenue growth, built scopes, and pitched at a high level.
- Digitally fluent: Deep understanding of social creative, platform behaviours, performance, and paid integration.
- Culturally intelligent: You live in culture, understand communities, and track what’s next.
- People-first leader: You know how to motivate, mentor and scale high-performing teams.
- Multi-sector experienced: You’ve worked across industries, from lifestyle and hospitality to B2B and retail.
- GEO-curious: You understand (or are eager to understand) how social fuels generative search and discovery.
