We are looking for proactive, team motivated Lifeguards to join our fun & friendly operational team on casual contracts.
This role brings with it the excellent opportunity to learn valuable life skills through monthly training, as well as aiding your future development through obtaining a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
At Bluecoat Sports, delivering a high standard of customer service to our valued members is our priority. You will work within a team of Lifeguards and under the guidance of our Duty Managers in ensuring the club remains clean, presentable, and safe in both day to day and emergency situations.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Lifeguarding our 25m, 6 lane Swimming Pool throughout a varied pool programme made up of many different activities to ensure the safety and enjoyment of Bluecoat members, CH school pupils, and members of the CH staff.
- Safety and effectively assist the Duty Manager in all first aid situations and emergencies, ensuring such events are accurately recorded through the completion of accident & incident reports.
- Ensuring the presentation of the building remains at a high standard throughout the day, whilst taking pride in the service the Bluecoat Sports team provide.
- Learn valuable life skills additional to the lifeguarding role, such as development of customer service experience, awareness of health and safety procedures, whilst gaining an understanding of real-life problem solving within the workplace.
- Facilitate a variety of dry activities within our Gymnasium, Sports hall, and other studios by ensuring all activities are set up in timely and safe manner.
- Gain responsibility within other areas of the club’s operations to develop organisational, administrative, and stock skills.
- Liaise politely and professionally with members of Bluecoats, CH school pupils and members of CH staff.
- Work proactively within a team of Lifeguards daily to support the Duty Manager in running the club effectively & efficiently.
Qualifications and skills
- A good standard of general education up to at least GCSE standard
- The National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) will need to be obtained upon employment. Part funding towards this qualification will be considered.
This role is offered on a casual contract, meaning there are no set agreed hours. Shifts will be scheduled and offered on a three-week rolling pattern where resources allow, to include a mixture of early, mid, late shifts and weekend shifts.
