Description 

We are looking for a Senior Digital Content Officer to join our Digital Communications team and to grow and engage our online community of over 1.4 million people. In this role, you will craft branded written and visual content for social media, blog and email, while optimising campaigns with data-driven insights. You will support the team by creating efficient collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and be instrumental in shaping our social media strategy.

What will you do? 

Day to day: 
● Translate the impact of One Young World’s programmes into compelling platform-native content that highlights the achievements of young leaders, partner initiatives, and global change. 
● Plan and manage the social content calendar across all platforms, ensuring alignment with key moments such as the Summit, Impact Report launch, scholarship campaigns, and ongoing programme activity, ensuring every post reflects One Young World’s tone, values, and brand. 
● Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to manage requests and support visual and copy needs across campaigns and projects. 
● Own the One Young World blog strategy based on current events and international newscycles. 
● Support the Digital Content Officer in creating content for Instagram and TikTok.
● Reflecting One Young World’s year-round presence at global events, create content briefs for key moments – such as COP, UNGA, speaking engagements, and community gatherings – and support and coach attending teams to capture and deliver timely content. 
● Track content KPIs and performance across platforms, using analytics to inform editorial decisions, refine content organic and paid strategies, and report on impact and engagement. 
● Own creation and delivery of the email newsletter, review data, suggest design changes and A/B test. 
● Lead relationships and work closely with any freelancers or external agency support 
● Work with the video managers and designer to ‘commission’ videos/graphics as needed. 
● Ensure brand consistency across all social media, email and web channels. 

Summit: 
● Strategise and deliver live content for Instagram during the Summit. 
● Assist in managing volunteers at the Summit, ensuring team alignment and content delivery. 
● Assist in creating workflows and schedules for the communication team to ensure smooth content delivery. 
● Draft copy and create assets for pre- and post-summit content. 
● Manage requests from other teams and ensure timely delivery and smooth collaboration. 
● Support with Digital Communications admin tasks during the Summit, including: - Uploading session photography to Flickr 
- Monitoring social media 
● Create social media packs, social posts and other assets for attendees. 

What you’ll need 
● Have a great eye for detail, ensuring high-quality content with attention to spelling, grammar, punctuation and brand guidelines. 
● 2-3 years of experience in a fast-paced content, communications or social media role. 
● Excellent storytelling skills, with the ability to write, edit and shape compelling narratives and a nuanced understanding of social issues and current events. 
● Experience in using email marketing platforms - we use Account Engagement. 
● Experience in content optimisation for paid and organic channels 
● Proficiency with social media scheduling and analytical tools, like Sprout or Brandwatch. 
● Experience in creating basic graphics using Canva or Adobe Illustrator 
● The right to work in the UK. 

Desirable 
● Experience with influencer or brand ambassador coordination, especially with young or emerging voices 
● Experience using Monday.com
● Experience using email marketing platforms such as Salesforce and Account Engagement. 
● Experience with sophisticated Generative AI tools such as Pencil.
