At Bookmark Reading Charity, we believe in changing children's life stories through the power of reading. We are looking for a talented and proactive Senior Designer to join our Marketing and Communications team.

In this role, you will shape and strengthen the visual identity of the charity across print and digital formats. You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues in Marketing and other teams to create high-quality materials that support our fundraising, volunteering, and programme activity.

This role is ideal for someone with strong core design skills who is excited to take creative ownership, manage multiple briefs, and help us tell our story with impact.

Role Description:

  • Design engaging print materials for various audiences, including volunteers, schools, and donors
  • Create digital assets for email campaigns, web, and social media
  • Contribute to the design and layout of our impact and annual reports
  • Produce print-ready artwork and coordinate with suppliers where needed.
  • Develop and produce collateral for fundraising events (e.g. invitations, programmes)
  • Design internal assets such as presentation templates and branded resources
  • Support the production of our children’s magazine, The Story Corner
  • Maintain and build upon our brand guidelines, acting as brand guardian across assets
  • Collaborate with the wider marketing team to develop creative campaign concept
  • Organise and maintain the charity’s creative asset library

Person Specification:

Experience & Knowledge

  • A degree in graphic design or equivalent professional experience
  • A strong portfolio showcasing a range of design work across print and digital
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to deadlines
  • Experience working within established brand guidelines
  • Knowledge of preparing artwork for print and an understanding of production processes
  • Confidence working collaboratively with colleagues across teams
  • Familiarity with commissioning photography or illustration (desirable)

Skills

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Strong layout, typography, and visual storytelling skills
  • A creative problem solver with an eye for detail and consistency
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise multiple briefs
  • Basic understanding of digital formats and designing for different plan
