Make is a growing digital marketing agency in the heart of East London. With our Paid Media function growing rapidly across UK and global clients, we're hiring a Head of Paid Media to lead the channel with vision, strategic precision, and commercial impact. This is a pivotal leadership role focused on delivering best-in-class paid strategies, growing accounts, nurturing talent, and continuously evolving our media thinking to meet the ambitions of the modern marketing landscape. You’ll work closely with our client leads, strategy, creative and data teams to bring powerful campaigns to life across Paid Search, Social, Programmatic, and emerging digital platforms.

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Expertise

  • 6–8+ years in Paid Media with strong multichannel experience (Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, programmatic etc.)

  • Proven success managing both performance and brand campaigns across different verticals (B2C & B2B)

  • 2+ years in a senior leadership or Head of role—ideally within an agency environment

  • Experience managing multi-market campaigns and media budgets exceeding £500k annually

  • Expertise in media planning, attribution models, tracking implementation, and data interpretation

  • Experience managing performance reporting and feeding insight into creative testing strategies

  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to mentor, coach, and motivate

Key Responsibilities

Channel Leadership & Strategy
Define the direction of Paid Media at Make—setting vision and strategy for how the channel evolves. Lead the channel planning and execution across all platforms, ensuring integration with wider strategy and creative. Own the media product—ensuring innovation, precision, and value delivery.

Client Strategy & Growth
Lead strategic media input across key client accounts, ensuring we exceed targets and proactively identify growth opportunities. Partner with client service and strategy teams to develop media plans that ladder up to client objectives. Present to C-suite stakeholders with clarity and authority.

Creative Collaboration & Effectiveness
Champion creative effectiveness in media—collaborating with creative teams and using platforms like Neurons to inform creative optimisation. Own paid media input into test-and-learn roadmaps and AB testing protocols.

Measurement, Reporting & Attribution
Establish clear KPIs and advanced measurement frameworks across Paid channels. Ensure campaign reporting delivers meaningful business insight—translating data into strategic direction. Oversee attribution and UTM tagging best practices with precision.

Team Development & Line Management
Manage and mentor the Paid Media team (junior to senior), supporting progression, accountability and shared success. Set clear personal development plans and lead team-wide training in partnership with Strategy and L&D leads.

Innovation & Thought Leadership
Stay ahead of industry trends, platform updates and emerging tools—bringing fresh perspectives into the agency and our clients. Represent Make at external thought leadership events and in pitch environments as media lead.

KPIs & Success Metrics

  • Client Growth: % uplift in paid media spend, contribution to retained and new revenue

  • Campaign Effectiveness: Achieving/improving CPA, ROAS, CTR across priority accounts

  • Team Health: Retention, team engagement, clear progression plans

  • Innovation: Number of successful test-and-learn experiments or new platform activations per quarter

  • Efficiency: Streamlined processes, optimised delivery workflows, improved forecasting
