Cricket Scotland is seeking to appoint a new President—a ceremonial and ambassadorial role that plays a valuable part in supporting the leadership and promotion of cricket across the country.
About the Role
The President is responsible for representing Cricket Scotland at key events, supporting the Chair and CEO in building strong relationships across the cricketing community, and helping to strengthen Cricket Scotland’s external profile domestically and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
Representation & Events
- Represent Cricket Scotland at home international fixtures, major domestic finals, and official functions.
- Support the reestablishment of the Scottish Cricket Awards.
Attend and represent Cricket Scotland at various community and stakeholder events.
Governance Support
- Chair the Annual General Meeting and any Extraordinary General Meetings.
- Chair meetings of the Hall of Fame Appointment Committee.
- Present reports to the membership at the AGM on performance and strategic developments.
Strategic Communication & Engagement
- Support the Chair and CEO in relationship-building across the cricket network, including with clubs, members, and honorary representatives.
- Act as a project sponsor, when requested, for initiatives requiring external advocacy and ambassadorial leadership.

About You
We’re looking for an individual with a deep understanding of and commitment to Scottish cricket. You’ll bring:

Extensive experience in domestic or international cricket (as a player, coach, administrator, official, or volunteer).

Comprehensive knowledge of the Scottish cricket landscape.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.

Experience in leadership or committee roles, ideally within sports organisations or clubs.
- A flexible and proactive approach to the demands of the role, which may include weekend and evening commitments.
Desirable qualities include:
- Previous experience in a representative role, such as part of a Club Committee.

Leadership experience gained through voluntary service or your professional career.
- A history of involvement in cricket as a player, coach, official, administrator, or club member.
