 Purpose of Post    
 
The Belonging Team provides both bespoke support for students’ issues and evidence for senior leaders across the union and university to make strategic improvements to their services.  
 
School Representatives advocate for students in the Student Voice Department within the Belonging Team, representing the broad range of student views from the courses within their respective School / Institute with the objective of improving the student learning experience.  
 

Primary Responsibilities  

 
1.      Represent students in their School/Institute, build trust with diverse student communities and be responsive to their learning experiences.  
2.      Collate evidence of the student learning experience, which identify key issues, opportunities for improvement, as well as patterns and trends.  Provide quality written reports to the Students’ Union and University via defined channels.   
3.      Provide feedback to students on actions/progress and encourage a culture of celebrating good practices.  
4.      Attend and participate in all meetings as directed by the Student Voice Manager and chair School/Institute Council.  
5.      Undertake development and training opportunities relating to student engagement, quality assurance/enhancement and partnership working with the University.  
 6.      To build effective partnerships and projects between the SU and the University that benefit the student learning experience.  
7.      To collate evidence on social policy issues impacting the students and recognise trends that require escalation and provide this evidence at the direction of the Head of Belonging/Student Voice Manager.  
8.      To contribute to the development and delivery of the SU Strategic Plan.  
 9.      To suggest improvements to systems and processes based on experience and student feedback  
 10.   To liaise, as directed with appropriate stakeholders across the Union, University, and student representative groups.

1.      To provide data to the elected leadership of the students’ union on work delivered. 
 2.      To demonstrably embed the values of the organisation in all delivered work. 
3.      To contribute to the development of a sense of team, within the Belonging Team, but also across the students’ union department.
