WILD Young Parents is a small charity on a big mission; to create a fair start for the babies of young parents
Young parent families have a tough start, experiencing health, social and economic inequalities. This is not fair, and we want to change it.
Set up by young parents over 30 years ago, we are now the biggest voice for young parent families in the UK.
Our vision: We want a fair start for the babies of young parents
Our mission:
We will work together with young parent families - to grow love and resilience, to tell their stories, and to build a society that cares about their future.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Parent Focused Worker who can start working with us as soon as possible, hitting the ground running working alongside our young parent families and our friendly team.
You will need to have the skills and experience to:
- work with, and alongside families
- lead family groups, running a minimum of three venue based sessions per week and help families join WILD activities including 1-2-1, whole family work, online sessions, chat groups and area-based activities
- work collaboratively within our team, putting families at the heart of your practice.
- be passionate about supporting young parents and their children to have the best start in life.
- advocate and work with other agencies and services
- attend wider team training, meetings and learning opportunities
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
Equity, diversity and inclusion is at the heart of WILD. We want everyone to feel like they belong. We value each person as an individual, treat everyone with dignity and respect and welcome all parts of a person's identity.
We want to meet the needs of young parent families who are under-resourced and experience the culminating impact of intersecting discrimination.
We want a diverse team of colleagues, who can bring the creativity and skills that come from diverse experiences. We welcome applications from individuals with lived experience of young parenthood, and those who have intersectional insight gained from their identities and communities.
We welcome early conversations about accessibility in our recruitment process and in our work roles.
EDI is everyone’s responsibility at WILD.
We can only achieve a fair start for young parent families by including everyone.
Closing date for applications: Friday 7th February 2025
