About the MCC Foundation Hubs
The MCC Foundation Hubs are the flagship programme of the Marylebone Cricket Club’s charitable arm. These hubs provide weekly winter cricket coaching for state school pupils, focusing on increasing opportunities for young people from underserved communities. The programme bridges the gap between participation initiatives and the national pathway, offering a vital platform for nurturing talent and developing future stars.
As a Lead Coach, you will:
- lead on the delivery of high-quality weekly coaching sessions.
- keep an accurate records of attendance and any other admin required.
- in collaboration with the Hub Manager, ensure effective communication to participant’s parents/carers.
Key Details
These are fixed term opportunities, during 2025. Much of the work will be undertaken between January to March, with additional involvement on competition days thereafter.
11 coaching sessions will typically be delivered within each hub between January and March, with flexible working hours depending on the hubs.
Sessions tend to be between 1.5 and 4.5 hours.

We have vacancies for Lead Coaches for the following squads:
- U12 Girls Edinburgh
- U12 and U16 Girls Glasgow
- U14 and U16 Boys Glasgow
- U16 Girls Perthshire
- U14 and U16 Boys Perthshire
As a Lead Coach, you will receive £25.00 per hour, which is made up of a base rate of £22.31, and rolled up holiday pay entitlement of £2.69, due to the irregular hours worked.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should be able to demonstrate:
- A passion for cricket and experience in coaching youth players.
- A minimum of ICC Level 2/ECB Level 2 coaching qualification or equivalent.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Flexibility to work varied hours and locations as required.
- A commitment to fostering inclusivity and supporting young players from diverse backgrounds.
To fulfil the role requirements, you will be required to live in Scotland and have the right to work in the UK.
