Making the Just Transition a reality
East Lammermuir is a rural community in East Lothian which looks set to host multiple renewable energy projects as part of the transition to net zero. We have a fantastic new opportunity for a Local Place Coordinator to drive effective collaboration between the community, developers, and local authority at all stages of any changes to come. This is a pioneering new initiative in which you'll take charge of a varied and stimulating workload and play a key role to ensure a just transition for the local community.
You will use your initiative to seek opportunities for more efficient joined-up working between stakeholders to ensure all planning applications are well-understood and judged on their own merits, and where developments are permitted, to minimise disruption and maximise local benefits.
Your key responsibilities will include:
· Implementing successful cross-stakeholder communications;
· Organising group events;
· Establishing an effective community feedback loop.
If you have experience in the energy sector, stakeholder engagement or community development, and have excellent interpersonal skills, then we’d love to hear from you.
Please note, that while this role is home based, some travel is required, with many opportunities to work within East Lammermuir itself.
More detail about the role and experience required is available in the Job description/person specification
which you can find here.
