About the role
The Animation team at No Code are looking for a Gameplay Animator to join the team for 12 months, to work on the highly anticipated Silent Hill: Townfall project.
As a Gameplay Animator on the project, you will bring your experience and work in collaboration with a small but highly skilled development team. You will bring characters and creatures to life on screen to help players immerse themselves in the game.
Please note we will not sponsor right-to-work visas for this role due to the length of the contract.

What you will do
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Utilise and blend motion capture data effectively using Maya Time Editor.
- Perform clean-up and clip blending to ensure high-quality animation sequences.
- Create detailed and expressive key-frame animations in Maya, adhering to the established animation principles and styles required by the project.
- Design and animate camera movements to enhance storytelling and cinematic quality. Compose shots to achieve the desired visual impact.
- Organise and prioritise tasks to meet project deadlines. Maintain an efficient workflow and manage animation assets systematically.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure cohesive and integrated animations. Participate in team meetings and provide constructive feedback.
- Review animations to ensure they meet the technical and artistic standards of the project. Make necessary adjustments based on feedback and testing.
- Ensure Jira is updated as appropriate.
Skills and Experience
- Clean up and blend motion capture data to create smooth and realistic animations.
- Proficient use of Maya, particularly in working with the Time Editor to blend motion capture data seamlessly.
- Key-frame animation within Maya, with a solid understanding of traditional animation principles.
- Solid knowledge of camera techniques and shot composition to enhance the visual storytelling of the game.
- High attention to detail and the ability to organise work efficiently. Keep animation files and assets well-organised.
- Capable of managing time effectively to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality output.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and collaborate with a diverse team.

What you will bring
Must have
- Experience creating gameplay animation for AAA games with experience of completing the development cycle of at least one shipped title
- Experience working in Unreal Engine 5
- Good general technical knowledge of gameplay processes and pipelines
- Experience with motion capture or working with motion capture data
- In-depth knowledge of human, creature and animal anatomy, body language and emotions
- Excellent implementation of timing and appearance of biped movement and facial expressions
