A Senior Consultant will lead on the delivery of consulting contracts both individually and with the wider team to advance the companies mission to leave a positive and lasting impact on the people, organisations and communities we work with, supporting social change.   


Roles and Responsibilities  
The roles and responsibilities of a Senior Consultant include: 

  • To lead on the delivery of high quality and impactful consultancy services to clients aligned to the client brief. This includes facilitating meetings, consultations, analysis of data, report writing and client management 
  • To deliver consulting projects efficiently, within budget and aligned to the client brief.  
  • To work effectively & efficiently on multiple contracts simultaneously, ensuring the delivery of high quality of project outputs 
  • To develop and maintain outstanding client relationships  
  • Develop high quality and reliable data collection processes including surveys, workshop and interview questions  
  • To produce high quality reports, in line with company templates and brands and aligned to the client brief  
  • To adhere to company operating manual, policies and processes in respect of delivery, management and administration of consulting services  
  • To coordinate (and line manage where appropriate) Project Consultants to ensure effective delivery of consulting contracts 
  • To work with a network of associate consultants to enhance the quality of consulting services  
  • To act professionally and showcase the company ethos at all times, demonstrating leadership and responsibility  
  • To operate at an 80% utilisation rate of billable time  
  • Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients, including tender submissions  
  • To travel and attend out of office site visits, meetings, consultations, facilitations (anything else you can think off that travelling/out of office is required across any of the roles) as and when required by a Client’ or Company 
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of the sector and respective subject matter or service areas and contribute to continuous service improvement within the company.  
 

Qualifications
 
Essential  
  • BSc Hons in a relevant discipline 
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working in the Community & Voluntary Sector 
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience managing staff 
Desired 
  • Relevant industry qualifications such as Social Return on Investment, Outcomes Based Accountability, Effective Survey Design etc 
 
 
Skills and Abilities  
  • Strong understanding of the community & voluntary and public sectors and able to engage with stakeholders at all levels across these sectors  
  • Able to position consulting projects in a broader strategic, funding and policy context and provide significant added value to clients 
  • Able to work with specialists in a wide range of disciplines – complementing and adding value to the team with strong project management skills 
  • Able to use feedback to manage performance and bring about change 
  • Able to build strong relationships with people within the team and throughout the business 
  • Able to lead meetings and communicate professionally and positively with internally and with clients 
  • Able to build strong client relationships  
  • Able to get the best out of outsourced services  
  • Practical strategic ability: able to translate vision into action and see that action through to completion, delegating and offering support as necessary 
  • Proven experience in a similar environment together with strong consulting capabilities and the ability to communicate with impact 
  • Keen to build your industry profile by networking, thought leadership and professional development 
  • Strong analytical / problem solving skills and the ability to evaluate a situation in a logical, independent and methodological way 
  • Commercially astute approach to the management of all engagement
