Job title: Debt Coach – CAP Debt Centre, Bracknell
Location: Kerith Bracknell and home visits
Hours of work: 14 hours a week – Tuesday + another weekday (9am – 5pm)
Department:  Social Justice/Revive
Reporting to:  Centre Manager – Bracknell, Farnborough and Windsor CAP Debt Centre
Salary: £8,328 (£20,821 FTE)

| Job purpose
The CAP Debt Coach is responsible for supporting the CAP Debt Centre Manager in the efficient running of the CAP Debt Centre, achieving the aims of Kerith Community Church and CAP.
To visit clients in their homes and encourage them to work with CAP.
To arrange additional visits for a fact-find of clients’ current financial situation and to communicate CAP Head Office advice, including a prepared budget and financial plan, whilst working with clients to encourage them to persevere with the plan.
This must be done in such a way as it positively reflects the Christian faith and the core values of CAP and in accordance with the Agency Agreement between the Debt Coach and CAP/Church partnership agreement - seeing people freed from the entrapment of debt and coming to a personal faith in Jesus Christ.  

| Main duties
|An important aspect of the role, working alongside other ministries in Revive, is to communicate the mission and culture of CAP both in the community and in Kerith Bracknell, continuing to expand our network of external referral agencies while at the same time, helping to support the team of volunteer befrienders.
To work with Site Pastor(s) and other ministries at Kerith Bracknell to support outreach/community projects.
Line management will be from the CAP Debt Centre Manager and the CAP Area Manager.

Role and Responsibilities
·        To be fully trained and proficient in the debt counselling services provided by CAP
·        To complete compulsory and additional training required by CAP and Kerith Community Church
·        To keep up to date with Kerith and CAP documentation and training
·        To share the good news of Jesus Christ
·        To work with the CAP Debt Centre Manager, publicising CAP widely in Bracknell and surrounding areas and to establish good links with referral agencies
·        To be an advocate for CAP’s Debt Centre in Kerith Community Church and to assist in building the befrienders and CAP support teams
·        Follow and adhere to, CAP Debt Centre Best Working Practices
·        Alongside the CAP Debt Centre Manager, develop an awareness of and engage with other CAP initiatives and communicate externally what we are doing for these projects as well as the Debt Centre.
·         If necessary, accompany clients to court in order to provide support.
·        Promote the work of CAP to increase support and awareness of CAP.  This includes encouraging support through the CAP Life Changer programme
 ·        As part of the team, fulfil all the required elements of the CAP Debt Coach including caseload and reviews with the Centre Manager
 
| Meetings
Mandatory meetings: 
·        Kerith Monthly “In-person” meetings
·        CAP National, Regional and Area events
·        Peer Supervision with Line Manager
·        1:1 meetings with Line Manager or Revive Ministry Lead
·        Other meetings arranged by Kerith that require members of the Office Team to attend

 | Qualifications |
Essential:
 ·     Good general level of education
 ·     Full and clean UK driving licence and use of car to facilitate home visits
Desirable:
 ·       Demonstrable progress along the Kerith Growth Track

  | Experience |    
 Essential:
 ·     Recent experience of reaching out to individuals and sharing the Christian faith with them in such a way that people have chosen to follow the Christian faith?
 ·     Experience of getting alongside new Christians to disciple them
·     Experience of working both alone and as part of a team
Desirable:
·     Experience of communicating in large group, small group and one-to-one settings
·     Experience of working with poor and disadvantaged people in vulnerable sections of society 
 
 | Knowledge   |
Essential:
·     Comfortable working with and an ability to explain numbers ·     Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

·     Passion for evangelism and seeing people committing to Christ
