About the role

No Code is looking for a Technical Animator to work with the team on the highly anticipated Silent Hill: Townfall project and beyond.

As a Technical Animator at No Code, you'll dive into Python development, rigging, and developing gameplay animation systems. This role is perfect for tech animators seeking dynamic challenges and who thrive in diverse aspects of game development. Since you'll collaborate with various team members and roles, strong communication skills are essential, along with a solid grasp of animation pipelines and gameplay limitations. 

  • This role is hybrid/remote for employees. Please note that remote can only be offered to those located in the UK.

  • Please note we will sponsor right-to-work visas for these roles.

What you will do

On a day-to-day basis you will:

  • Confidently work in Tech-animation from crafting tools in Python to rigging and implementing in-game animations
  • Foster collaboration and communication across the team teams, including Animation, Art, and Code
  • Innovate and experiment with new gameplay and cinematic animation systems
  • Integrate diverse assets into the game and ensure their good performance
  • Skillfully rig and skin a diverse range of characters, creatures, and assets, ensuring they function flawlessly
  • Tackle assigned bugs, ensuring they're resolved on time and while meeting production deadlines
  • Provide assistance to the department lead with any additional 

What you will bring

Must have:
  • Proficient in Unreal, Maya, Motion Builder 
  • Strong grasp of Unreal Blueprints, sequencer, and real-time deformation techniques
  • Great knowledge of Python scripting to create and/or customise tools and automate processes
  • Effective communication skills across disciplines
  • Assess performance implications in implementation decisions, and be able to communicate these
  • Good understanding of Facial Rigs and industry standards
  • Proactive in finding and improving bottlenecks  in the development pipeline 
  • Solid understanding of body mechanics and anatomy

Nice to have:
  • Adobe Premier for video editing
  • Experience working with mocap data
  • UE5 experience
  • Understanding of Metahuman Facial Rigs and Pipeline
  • C++ experience
