We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join our claims management company based in the UK. As a Credit Controller, you will play a vital role in managing the company's credit control processes, ensuring timely and accurate collection of outstanding payments from clients and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders. Your primary responsibility will be to minimize credit risk and optimize cash flow to support the financial stability of the organization.
What will you be responsible for:
Credit Control:
- Implement and maintain effective credit control procedures and policies.
- Monitor and review customer credit limits, conducting credit checks as necessary.
- Proactively manage the outstanding debtors ledger, ensuring timely collection of payments.
- Follow up on overdue invoices and resolve any payment discrepancies or issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams to address client queries and resolve billing disputes.
Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor and forecast cash flow to identify potential gaps and take appropriate actions to ensure sufficient working capital.
- Work closely with the finance team to analyse cash flow patterns and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare regular cash flow reports and provide updates to management regarding the status of outstanding payments.
Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, ensuring effective communication and understanding of payment terms.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, including sales and customer service teams, to resolve customer queries and address payment-related issues.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare accurate and timely reports on debtors, overdue accounts, and credit control activities.
- Analyse payment trends and identify potential risks or opportunities for process improvement.
- Provide recommendations to management on strategies to optimize credit control and cash flow management.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all credit control activities and communications.
- Assist in the development and enhancement of credit control procedures and systems.
What we need from you:
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Credit Controller or in a similar role, preferably within the claims management or financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of credit control principles, debt recovery, and relevant regulations.
- Excellent knowledge of credit assessment and risk evaluation techniques.
- Proficient in using financial software and tools, including credit management systems.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and handle difficult conversations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
