The project will benefit humanity, supplying clean power whilst diminishing reliance on fossil fuels, thereby reducing carbon emissions. It will deliver a huge innovation footprint across sectors from energy to space to robotics. Therefore, the successful candidate must hold sustainability and innovation as key personal values if they are to have credibility both internally and externally.

About the Role:
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented IP Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing and protecting our intellectual property assets. 

As an IP Analyst at Space Solar you will be responsible for conducting research, analysis, and administrative tasks related to intellectual property (IP) matters. IP is critical to the success of Space Solar.  You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, patent attorneys, and external partners to help safeguard our IP assets and support company growth.

What you will bring to the team:
  • At least five years’ full-time patent search experience.
  • Essential: Expertise in the use of Derwent Innovation and Derwent World Patents Index (DWPI). Familiarity with patent databases, search tools, and IP management software.
  • IP Portfolio Management
  • Patent drafting experience
  • Advising patent attorneys and inventors on drafting strategy
  • Supporting patent prosecution and Office Action activities
  • Experience with IP terms in contracts
  • The ability to work independently in a deadline driven environment.
  • The skills and discipline to work remotely if required.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable 
  • Knowledge of patent and trademark laws and procedures is a plus.
  • Knowledge of space or energy sectors.
  • Knowledge of Radio Frequency (power beaming), materials or space sector innovations.
