This ground-breaking programme will develop and commercialise space based solar power.  Space Solar must become the world’s most knowledgeable entity in space-based solar power technologies, system design, delivery, deployment, and utilisation.

The project will benefit humanity, supplying clean power whilst diminishing reliance on fossil fuels, thereby reducing carbon emissions. It will deliver a huge innovation footprint across sectors from energy to space to robotics. Therefore, the successful candidate must hold sustainability and innovation as key personal values if they are to have credibility both internally and externally.

About the Role:
As part of our Contracts team, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire contract lifecycle within our organization. Your role involves managing contract negotiations, ensuring compliance, mitigating risks, and optimizing contract terms to support the company's strategic objectives. You will play a crucial role in maintaining positive relationships with clients, vendors, and partners while safeguarding the company's interests.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Proven experience in contract management and negotiations, with a minimum of 5 years of managing high value (£5M+) and/or high complexity/high risk contracts.
  • Ability to understand key areas of risk and to able to communicate to management where risk can be tolerated and where it needs to be addressed.
  • Experience in working for engineering / high tech organisations.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, compliance requirements, and industry-specific regulations.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex contractual terms and conditions.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and tools.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring contract accuracy and compliance.

  • Experienced in Intellectual Property law
  • Space industry experience
  • Experience working for a scale-up
