In 12 years, Space Solar will deliver an affordable, scalable, and fully renewable new baseload energy technology. We will accelerate the transition to net zero and provide energy security for partner nations, as global demand grows.

This ground-breaking programme will develop and commercialise space based solar power. Space Solar must become the world’s most knowledgeable entity in space-based solar power technologies, system design, delivery, deployment, and utilisation.
The project will benefit humanity, supplying clean power whilst diminishing reliance on fossil fuels, thereby reducing carbon emissions. It will deliver a huge innovation footprint across sectors from energy to space to robotics. About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to create and grow from the foundations upwards the digital architecture and supporting digital systems to enable our fast paced, high tech business to flourish. This presents a great opportunity to create a lean, highly effective architecture from the outset, as well as bringing in new advancements in digital systems, data management, Gen-AI and Power BI techniques to enable the business to be highly efficient, unlock value, and maintains its ambitious programme timescales.
As the Head of Digital Systems and IT, you will be responsible for shaping and executing the organization's digital IT strategy to drive innovation, enhance operational efficiency, and support overall business growth, in addition to leading on the digital transformation initiatives of our organization. You will oversee the management of our digital systems, IT infrastructure, and technology strategy, ensuring that our company remains at the forefront of technological innovation. You will lead a dynamic team of IT professionals and work collaboratively with other departments to ensure that our technology infrastructure and digital solutions supports our strategic goals and drive efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.
What you will bring to the team:
- Proven experience in IT leadership roles, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior management position.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- In-depth knowledge of digital technologies, IT infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
- Proficiency in IT governance, cybersecurity, and risk management.
- Experience in working with AI and Power BI systems to unlock data efficiencies / accelerate business performance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in budget management and vendor relationship management.
- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance standards.
- Project management skills and a track record of successfully leading IT transformation projects to completion.
- Experience with agile development methodologies.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, PMP, ITIL) are a plus.
