This ground-breaking programme will develop and commercialise space based solar power.  Space Solar must become the world’s most knowledgeable entity in space-based solar power technologies, system design, delivery, deployment, and utilisation.
 
The project will benefit humanity, supplying clean power whilst diminishing reliance on fossil fuels, thereby reducing carbon emissions. It will deliver a huge innovation footprint across sectors from energy to space to robotics. Therefore, the successful candidate must hold sustainability and innovation as key personal values if they are to have credibility both internally and externally.
 
About the Role:
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will contribute technically and lead projects that may cover low Technology Readiness Level concepts through Commercial-Off-The-Shelf products. As well as good communication skills, a broad range of technical skills and experience are needed to succeed in this role. 

Examples include a mixture of; engineering management, systems engineering, digital engineering, energy systems modelling (including nuclear), design/analysis/engineering/manufacturing of integrated systems (e.g. for space, nuclear, aerospace). This includes assessment of existing components as well as future designs.
 
The value you deliver will be measurable in the challenging engineering problems that you help to identify and solve, optimising the engineering programme to deliver more quickly, helping your colleagues succeed and bringing your engineering, technical and delivery  knowhow and expertise to the wider team, and delighting our investors.   
 
The role is part of a diverse and highly capable team which will work closely together to execute the programme. The programme is highly agile, and requires team players who can be flexible, problem solve on the go, innovate, and take initiative.

 What you will bring to the team:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in delivering technical solutions to engineering problems
  • Experience of successfully delivering projects or workstreams
  • Practical knowledge of working collaboratively cross-disciplines
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of writing technical documentation/reports

Desirable:
  • Team management and management of subcontractors and vendors
