Citizens Advice Cornwall are looking for an Operations Manager. Due to the Head of Operations moving into the role of Interim CEO until a permanent CEO has been recruited, an Operations Manager role has been created to support with running operational activities across the service. Working closely with the Interim CEO and Service Delivery Leads, the Operations Manager will be responsible for a portfolio of projects run by the service. This includes the establishment, management, monitoring, reporting, and evaluation of projects, along with the line management of relevant personnel. The role oversees organisation wide Health & Safety and will be an active member of the Safeguarding team. Situated within the wider CAC management team, the role will work with colleagues in supporting other organisational functions with projects and activities. Essential Criteria
- Ability to commit to and work within the aims, principles and policies of the Citizens Advice service and the vision of Citizens Advice Cornwall to build a collaborative ‘one-team’ culture whereby staff and volunteers can contribute their skills, experience and time flexibly across our service to meet the needs of our clients and colleagues.
- Proven experience of managing complex projects with multiple funders, preferably within an advice sector, including monitoring and maintaining casework systems and procedures and service delivery against agreed targets
- Proven experience of managing funder relationships, including producing project evaluations, reports and advocating for funding extensions.
- Experience of working dynamically with a Senior Management Team by contributing to overall organisational objectives.
- Well-developed planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise own workloads and the demands of your team to deliver on deadlines.
- Proven ability to manage people, including recruiting, developing, adaptively coaching, effectively delegating, motivating and performance managing staff (paid and voluntary) where they are empowered and supported to achieve their full potential.
- Proven ability to create a positive and collaborative working environment for volunteers and paid staff in which equality and diversity are professionally managed, dignity at work is upheld and everyone is respected.
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex information to make decisions, produce and present clear and concise reports, and communicate effectively, orally and in writing that often, but not exclusively, comes from Higher Education.
- Ability as an adaptable and effective communicator, who is confident, negotiating, persuading, actively listening and engaging a variety of people from different backgrounds and levels.
- Ability to effectively manage a budget and resources.
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Office Suite including excel, word, outlook, PowerPoint and Teams.
- Commitment to reflective performance and continuing professional development and self-reflection.
- Ability to travel and work across Cornwall
Desirable Criteria
- Qualification or relative experience in project management (such as PRINCE2 or APM).
- An in date National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) certificate or Institution of Occupation Safety and Health (IOSH) certificate.
- Understanding of the voluntary and community sector and the challenges and opportunities facing the sector
