JOB PURPOSE
We are looking for a talented and proactive individual to take on a Senior Manager maternity cover to lead on the development and delivery of UK for UNHCR’s digital fundraising. The role reports to the Fundraising Director, manages a small digital team and leads on digital fundraising across the organisation, including in the lead generation, Islamic Philanthropy and community fundraising space.
The primary purpose is to raise funds and support from new and existing donors, providing strategic input and, where needed, hands-on support to grow and develop the programme to meet ambitious five year targets to enable UNHCR deliver its vision of a world where every person forced to flee can build a better life
You will work very closely with the Senior Manager, Individual Giving, who leads on offline activity, as well as Communications and Philanthropy/ Corporate Partnership colleagues, Database Manager and Analyst and our digital agency and international fundraising teams. The role is responsible for managing a small digital fundraising team* as well as the digital agency.
Passionate about the donor experience and fundraising and an experienced digital fundraiser, you will have an ability to think strategically as well as tactically and bring a learning and development approach to you and your team’s work. You will be a confident manager of staff and agencies. You will be highly organised and a clear communicator, competent at managing your own workload and competing priorities. You will have strong problem solving skills, a test and learn approach and a track record of meeting deadlines and meeting/ exceeding financial targets.
*Digital fundraising team comprises and Manager of Mobilisation, Senior Officer, Email Marketing, a Digital Fundraising Officer and a Community Fundraising Officer.

United Kingdom for UNHCR is the United Nations Refugee Agency’s national charity partner for the United Kingdom. We generate public awareness of the plight of refugees and raise funds to help protect them through UNHCR’s humanitarian operations across the world.

ROLE RESPONSIBLITIES
· Manage and strategically develop UK for UNHCR’s digital fundraising programme to acquire new donors and to retain and grow existing donor numbers, ensuring income targets are met and objectives fulfilled.
· Manage the digital agency and other suppliers as required to deliver the programme in a cost effective and efficient manner.
· Lead and manage the digital fundraising team, providing technical leadership, guidance and professional development opportunities.
· Develop relationships with the UNHCR Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) international staff, meeting reporting requirements, sharing results and utilising opportunities to learn and innovate from others.
· Plan and budget on an annual basis, reforecasting quarterly and working closely with the Senior Manager, Individual Giving, to deliver an integrated donor experience.
· Deliver integrated campaigns across multiple platforms, working closely with the Offline fundraising team, digital agency, Database Manager and Communications colleagues.
· Provide digital campaign briefs, feedback on digital media plans and ensure internal approvals are managed, advertising and campaign tracking is effective and campaigns are executed and managed according to target.
· Lead on analytics and reporting for core content across social and digital channels including on-site conversion tracking. Drive the success of campaigns and digital channels by analysing and evaluating engagement and developing and utilising testing strategies.
· Build and optimise conversion landing pages for cross-channel campaigns with consideration of audience, key messaging, calls to action and impact evaluation. Ensure outcomes, KPIs and user journeys are considered from the outset.
· Ensure insights and results from all digital and email marketing activity are shared and drive optimisation across all channels and campaigns and with Comms colleagues.
· Lead on community fundraising, managing the Community Fundraising officer with external consultancy support.
· Champion UK for UNHCR’s Islamic Philanthropy work, playing a leading role in the Ramadan and other IP campaigns.
· Ensure an appropriate strategic and tactical response to humanitarian emergencies.
· Work closely with the Communications Team to contribute to the building of UK for UNHCR’s profile and digital offering in the UK and to maximise donor response to appeals.
· To work within and ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory bodies and their respective legal frameworks, including GDPR directives, Fundraising Regulator.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE
Essential Experience
· Significant experience of managing and delivering an effective digital individual giving fundraising programme that delivers against its targets;
· Significant experience of developing and implementing digital fundraising strategies;
· Experience of managing creative agencies and other suppliers to deliver a quality, timely service on brief and to budget;
· Experience of leading a team and of line management;
· Experience of producing plans and budgets across multiple platforms;
· Experience of creating integrated donor journeys.
· Experience of digital fundraising in the UK charity sector.
Essential Skills/Knowledge
· Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to communicate clearly to a range of audiences;
· Numerate, familiar with analysing campaign results, drawing conclusions and creating budgets;
· Excellent problem solving and decision making skills;
· Ability to independently manage and prioritise multiple tasks and projects in a fast paced and busy environment and to delegate effectively where appropriate;
· Ability to act proactively to identify new fundraising opportunities and to take a test and learn approach;
· Excellent understanding of data segmentation and personalisation;
· Advanced knowledge of web analytics platforms like Google Analytics;
· Advanced knowledge of digital measurement metrics and experience, producing online performance reports for stakeholders;
· Experience in working with content management systems and e-mail marketing tools
· Able to demonstrate flexibility, with a willingness to respond quickly, particularly at times of humanitarian crisis;
· Good attention to detail, ability to edit, proof-read and pick up inconsistencies;
· Knowledge of and skilled in using Microsoft Office suit.
Desirable Skills/Experience (not compulsory)
· Experience of working on Community fundraising and Islamic Philanthropy in the digital space.
